So im finally ready to order beans and try Autos. Ive done 2 photos and the first one had decent buds and the second hermied.

Im thinking 4 or maybe 6 plants to start. IM not sure if 6 is feasable with only 216 watts of T5. IM going to build a grow box that will be made to the size of the light to get the max out of it. So im thinking something like 51" wide 21" deep and im not sure on height, i guess it depends on what strains and how tall they get but i was thinking like 50" figuring in on height of pots and being able to raise the lights.

So I want to do like 2 or 3 strains, and something that will only get like 30" tall at max. I would like a more sativa because i want something motivating and not put me on the couch like a stump. I have anxiety problems so if theres a strain that might help that, bonus! And lastly a hearty easy to take care of strain.

Obviously i want a good yield and dense buds. Odor control is a somewhat a concern for security reasons. After some reading on here im not sure if i should get reg or fem. My last 2 questions for now are, will the 6500k bulbs be good for the whole grow or should i also get some 2700k? And is 20/4 the best?

Let the recommendations commence.

After some reading maybe an indica would be the better choice for the anxiety but i would also like a strain to get me off the couch and get some work done.

I have found most Sativa dom. strains to increase anxiety, not lower it... Haven't tried a lot of different autos specifically but anything with an Indica type buzz should help with anxiety, even if you don't like the couch lock part... I am a medical card holder and can attest to trying more strains by now than I can remember! I have nerve pain, anxiety and a sleep disorder so Indicas are perfect for me! Sounds like you would be happiest with a sativa dom strain that shows heavily the characteristics of an Indica. Like I said, haven't tried many autos, but a good example of a photo with these properties is Flo, being 60/40% sat. dom. but the buds look like Indica all the way and the high is perfect!
To actually answer your first question I would get a sativa dom. and an Indica for using medicinally in either circumstance, pain or anxiety... Unfortunately my quiver of auto seeds is quite small... It's definitely hard to go wrong with Dieselryder and any of the Lowryder stuff, I started with the original Lowryder and moved to LR2 and it kept me happy... Lots of people get the mix packs from Short Stuff etc. That way, with all femmed seeds, you have a buffet at your fingertips!

:howdy:festy420 just to welcome, like surffreak23 lowryder be good place to start, you say should i get reg or fem beans i get a mix when odering and im sure you get free ones which well be reg when ordering, looking for seeing some of you grow very much,:peace:

Welcome to the forum. I agree that indicas or indica dominant strains would probably be best for your anxiety. Some that you might consider include Snowryder, Himalayan Blue Diesel, Blue Himalayan, Mi5, Diesel Ryder, and White Russian. There are others as well.

On the size of your box you might consider making it a little wider, say 24 or 28" instead of 21. Most autos do well in 3 gallon pots and those extra couple inches would give you enough room for 2 rows. Regarding the odor, you will need a carbon filter. It could either be mounted inside or outside of the box. Of course, inside the box is less obvious so you might make the box higher to allow room for one.

easyryder my first auto great for newbs

HBD and Mi5 would be good for a beginner! They were fairly care free on the scale of things. imo.

does easy ryder or mi5 grow well in hot temps 100 - 104

Another vote for EasyRyder - it pretty much grows itself and is rather consistant. The smell varies drastically w/ phonetypes; and I hate that. I grow mine outside in 98+ temps with several weeks in the triple didgits. Didn't even phase them one bit. If you are new - go with Fem seeds. I hear people bitching about fem seeds going hermie, but I think the grower causes that more than the fem trait. I have NEVER had a fem seed hermie on me. I just jinxed myself; didn't I?

As a beginer, only go with reg seeds if you want to do a seed run or start your own cross - and you need more experience before you start that. Plant a well established strain fem seed and you are pretty much guaranteed to grow a girl. When you are starting out - that is a huge advantage. Pureists may disagree with me, but the easier the better when starting.

fem fast bud. over and done with so quick that you barely have to do anything, sow in final pots, stick under a light on 18/6. water every couple days and feed once a week from 3 weeks, 4 weeks later ye chop down. even though you barely have to do anything you will find yerself in the growroom just admiring how fast and easy they are constantly!

You will get the same amount of bud from 6 plants as you would from 4 plants from the light unless you plan on stunting your plants to keep them short.

Go for mostly red 2700 with only 1 or 2 white bulbs.
