I've been an outdoor grower so far and still like the idea of growing my plants under the sun..... but the situation is going to change and I need your help. :help:

I'm going to live in East Africa from September for at least one year... If I can get an apartment with a reasonable balcony, that's fine, I'm gonna grow some there but if not, I need to grow indoor.

The problem is that I wouldn't be able to get proper grow lights and equipment there, so I need to grow my cannabis with whatever is available locally.
Can I use ordinary office fluorescent light, desk lamp, etc. to grow them?

Cfl bulbs could be a good choice, they seem to be available in most hardware stores around Europe and USA so I'm guessing you could probably pick some up out there mate.:smokebuds:

:bong:No office lights or desk lamps. Some cfl's the bigger the better with reflectors will work.

I would def go with Cfls. You can buy a bunch of Y sockets and place 10 of them around your plant. Get them as close as possible and she will go crazy. Good thing about them is you can place them 360 degrees around the plant to get maximum lighting.

Thanks!

Do I need to change the strength of the light(s) during the veg stage and flowering stage?

Oh, I know this is a dumb question but... what is the difference between fluorescent light and CFL?? Why is it that the CFLs are OK but not the fluorescent lights used in the offices?

Cfl stands for compact fluorescent lamp. You can grow under any fluorescent.

Thanks greenthumer for clarifying. That gives me a bit more option.
