Howdy Fellas...I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction to a good organic gnat killer. or method to killing them organiclly. Saw a couple yesterday while looking at the ladies and want to cut off there heads before it gets worst. thanks...

yes I'm using FFOF and yes I'm not a fan of it. I want ROOTs or maybe a comp/perlite mix next round. We will see...

any help is appreciated.

azatrol, azamax... I used azatrol for root aphids in my rails and after 2 weeks I had a rez FULL of dead aphids. Azatrol can be foliar fed if you want.

Diatomaceous Earth is the organic. Should do the trick. Do a quick search for it, it's really cheap, and one doesn't have to use alot. 1-3 applications over 2-3 weeks is the Rx when I have issues.

Fly paper. Just hang some and they will fly into it and stick.

Diomataceous Earth, sticky pest strips and mosquito dunks...the triple threat.

there's also no pest strips...they work good but they're not organic.

If the plant is small enough, you can enclose it in a big plastic bag. You are making a "tent". Light a cigarette and place the burning cig filter end down into the soil. Let the cig burn itself out or until it runs out of O2. Let it sit for about 15 min. The nicotine cloud in the tent will kill bugs. It penetrates their exoskeleton and kills quickly. Be careful not to set anything on fire. There is no residue left on the plant.

Smidgette - Sounds like a tried and true home remedy. I bet your not a novice grower just a AFN novice. :thumbs:cg

I forget the name of it, but there is a virus that is going through some of the cannabis community that is transferred by tobacco/tobacco smoke. It is no longer recommended to use any sort of tobacco remedy with cannabis plants.

If you put a layer (about 1") of sand on the top of your mix, the gnats will not be able to get back into the soil to lay, and the larva already in the soil that hatch, will not be able to get out... that and a pest strip has always worked for me. I have also used Diomataceous Earth. It is very effective just beware... it is a very fine dust. Make sure you are in a ventilated area and it wouldn't be a bad idea to wear goggles and a dust mask (like painters wear). :peace:

Thanks guys I'll think i'll do the Sand and Sicky yellow paper deal to try not to add anything. There has only been a couple flying around so It should be easy Just need to make sure i get them ALL and the larva :p thanks again
