Was wondering how many actually use tinted glasses to view their tents, or is that a gimmick? I admit those lights are bright with the reflective walls.

Some use them to make the color right like is they have pink LEDs but you can use them to protect your eyes But the dude at the grow store for LEDs tells me he just uses regular sunglasses.

I don't go into my grow room without my LED Method 7's. They're no gimmick, rather a necessity for me. But I'm an old with developing cataracts. That being said, I listen to my ophthalmologist. I don't have a grow shop dude.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to ask the same question.ATM I have Prizm deep water polarized lenses that block 100% of all UV.Been sitting here for a year now never used.Probably not the best for grow lights but better than nothing until I can get grow specific(?)

Neutral grey-tint sunglasses should work. But standards for sunglasses seem to have slackened in recent years. 90% blockage used to be the norm and recommended. But most everything on the market now, even polarized lenses, block just 80%, pass 2x as much light. "Coppertone" branded prescription sunglasses have been the only ones I've been able to find that are 90% blockage, polarized and discounted online.

Definitely confirm high-grade UV filtering if your lighting includes UV spectra.

I agree.I used to be a swimming pool tech and needed something that was good and I never was into spending big bucks on sunglasses. The ones I have on hand are Oakley meant for fishing/deep water.I bought them as an extra pair. They work very well after being outside for 12 to 16 hours especially here in the desert(AZ).I am really careful of what I own so I don't lose or accidently brake them so a pair last a long time for me.
