have read the lowryder growing guide a dozen times.now ive started with the germinating.all 15 seed sprouted yesterday.i put in soil the way the guide showed.i put in a foot locker with a heat pad on low in bottom and stacked containers last night.today i have sprouts-should i leave in brooder until tomorrow or as soon as head emurges should it be moved to lights 20/4?thanks for any helpfull info

Once they are out of the ground they need some air. Its your railroad but the 20/4 light schedule isn't the best. Not sure what your lighting scenario is but I'd put them under no more than 18. Keep the temps below 75 f. preferably use more blue light than red. Start them on a light feeding schedule when they get their first set of leaves with a high nitrogen food. Finally try to keep the humidity high. I take softdrink bottles that I've cut and more or less make mini greenhouses. It seems to work pretty well. They like the extra moisture in the air. Do what's just been said and you ought to get 10-12 females. The 20/4 will work and the plants may seem to grow faster but you'll lose 2-5 plants due to males.

thanks for info. 5 of those are fem seed--1 cronic x lr#2 deisel x lr#2 easyryder lr#2 and a dwarf ---all fem to cross with a lr#2 i planted 10 of them to play with hope for 5 females --that would give me 10

about the lights---the lr#2 grow guide says 18/6 or 20 /4 or even 24/0-all the way-what is your openion on this

i have them under cfls at present but a hps is in there near future------i usua 100_3509.jpglly do a outside--here is 1 auto i chopped 2 days ago---got 3 more in the woods --just new to this lights grows--i like the sunshine as my lights---100_3508.jpg

congrats on the harvest what strain was it and what size light u gonna put the new ones underand and my jems seem happier since i walked my light hours down from 20/4 to 18/6

right now i have the little ones100_3420.jpg under a homemade fixture with 10--100watt<23 true> bulbs but i will have a hps or a t5 by the first of the month about time for the budding to start100_3418.jpg

light schedule is pretty much what you can swing. I run 17/7 from start to flower. Then any males go under 24/0 to speed them up. The girls I leave on 17/7 but I put them under hps with 2700 watt cfl for dark spots. The last two weeks I treat them like photo plants and drop the light to 12 hours. The last two days are on 8 hours. I'm not fond of light schedules above 18 on and I'm not fond of running hps for full grows. The effects of those two things won't or may not be noticed by the casual grower but if you are growing for numbers of any kind whether it be for recreational or medical use you'll see the difference. Unless you are a commercial grower I'd go with as short as possible lighting schedule. The best size, yield and cost effectiveness seems to be had in the 16-18 hour range. Above 18 isn't going to pay for itself if you're running a high wattage setup. Yeah of ya got nothing but a couple cfls ya have to do something to compensate but grams per watt has to be figured whether you're doing it for fun or figures.

would i be better off with a t5?this is just to try to keep the wife an me some smoke for the winter months and make seed for next year.in march its back to the woods. in reality i had been figuring to start2 plants--wait a week start 2 more for 8 weeks but i got in a hurry.this time around im not too worried over quanity as much as making a few seed for spring and make alittle smoke to boot.

If ya can step up to the t5 that's better than twists or t8s. Not as good as led mh or hps. Tbm is prolly on as I didn't pay attention to your grow space but if ya have good ventilation a 150 hps will get you good production from a few plants. Don't really think with the number you're talking though that anything short of hid will give you much. Ya just don't have the lumens to get any kind of yield from that many. You'd be better off starting 4 and finishing them. You'll prolly get the same yield and seeds as you will doing the 2 week cycle using double the seeds and nutes.
