New Grower germinating lights 24/0 and then?

hello i started some autos i have put the germinated seeds in the soil..(all mix) and i have one 250w hps on them 24/0 with a cup on the soil to trap the moisture inside..

a day after the baby plants shown and now i am in day 3 some of them have shown the 2 main leave some have the starting leaves and one of them is on the seed again...

i was wonder when to start the 20/4 light cycle? i must do it now?

I personally prefer 20/4 or 18/6 because the plants seem to build roots better in the dark along with other functions. Think of it as allowing some sleep and recovery time for the plant. Now if you're set on 24/0 that's fine too, but you want to use very little changes in light schedule, so if you're going with 24 for the life of the plant start it right away. I've always heard changing the amount of light on/off by more than 15 mins a day can have mini stress effects. Good luck brother.

thanks for the info man.. i switch from 24/0 to 20/4 now? i am in the 2nd day the plants come out from soil 2 days before they will not have any issue or problem right?

just make sure its high enough above them so as not to get too hot. 74-78f is optimal but I have been up to 84-86f with no harm.

I ran 250w hps at 24/0 for about a week. ...than I kicked it up to about 400w at 24/0, I have an adjustable ballast, then after a week or so of that I switched to full power 600w and changed the schedule to 18/6. Seemed to work great and they really took off when I changed the schedule. ...about to harvest my first girl ever tomorrow. ...come check out my thread and see how I did things if you would like. ...do you have a thread for your grow?

actually here people love to follow your thread and help along the way. ..if it wasn't for my thread I wouldn't have received the help I did to get me through this first grow. This community is amazing to b honest. I'll b your first follower and would love to help you if you have any questions. With an ongoing thread we can keep track of everything and have it recorded here to make things easier because you can always look back at what worked and what didn't ya know. ..
