Indoor General problems

Hey all. As some of you have seen I've currently got an Auto Candy Kush in soil atm, and its going alright. But recently I've had problems growing in coco even though my first grow went well. I've also lost alot of seeds when germinating. I've tried germing in water then soil/coco, paper towel then soil/coco, direct to soil/coco (although had more success from coco), paper towel then rockwool. I've lost more seeds through germination than I have that has sprouted.
I've read thread after thread on germinating methods but can't seem to get a high success as everyone else seems to.
I'm looking at putting another seed in soon and would like some help if possible

I've been going direct to soil. I spay the center of the pot with a few pumps, not soaking, just enough to moisten the soil and top it off with the bottom 1/2 of a water bottle over the area like a mini green house. then I mist the inside of the bottle bottom 1 or 2 times a day till it pops, usually 2 1/2-3 days. I have no experience with coco, but allot people that do like the rapid rooter plugs. hope this helps

I have a great germination record. I soak them in water for about 12-24 hours, if they don't sink on there own I tap them. If they sink I put them in a wet paper towel if not I let them soak for a few more hours. ( I planted one that after 24 hours would not sink and it sprouted so even if it wont sink still try to sprout it)I actually use about 4 sheets of toilet paper folded in half, put seed in middle and fold half again so it is size of 1 sheet. I dump water on paper getting about half of it wet. If you just soak the hell out of the paper it will drowned the seedling. You might as well have left it in the water. If there is water sloshing in your zip lock you wetted it too much. I usually wait tell tap root is about 1/8" to 1/4" before it plant is soil with tap root facing down. I have also planted after seed just cracked, after seed was like 1" long and shed its seed and every were in between. They do better if they have not come out of the seed yet or started to form too many fine roots so 1/8"-1/4" seams to be the best for me. You could also just soak seeds over the night and plant strait in soil. Water the soil before you drop your seed and place it about 1/4" deep or about the with of a pencil thickness deep. Cover with clear plastic to keep the top from drying out tell plant has broke soil and shed its seed. Also be carful of seed starting pots. I had some once kill like 10 seeds due to them having a low PH. If all else fails go strait in soil and keep plastic over it to keep from drying out tell seed sprouts. Remember though it could take any were from 1-3 weeks to sprout in strait soil so don't give up after week one if there still not showing.

Thanks guys. I've been getting really disheartened because of my lack of germ rates. Lost 10 KC brains regs, 6 afghani regs, 1 Auto Candy Kush, 1 Black Jack Auto and an XXL Amnesia Auto. One Black Jack Auto sprouted great in a day but the cotyledons and 1st set of leaves developed all shrivelled and dry even with a bottom half of a pop bottle over it to keep up humidity. Will really work at my next lot as I've been asked by someone to grow out some of his seeds he has bred out

You know I will get blasted for this but if your having seed problems here is what I would hand have done. Start in some maricle grow 6 month feed and grow some plants for seed. Its best to start in solo cups and transplant a little late like week 3 so they use up a little bit of the nutes in the cup. Transplant in to 1 or 2 gallon pot and grow out for seeds. Don't worry about feeding whole grow and if they become a little nute deficient let them be cuz your only after the seeds. I have went full grow in MG if you don't give a lot of light and keep plant small with out feeding and got 50 seeds this way in one cup. Here is a plant I did on only MG soil with a 1.5 gallon clay pot and sink water strait out of the tap. I think this was under my 250W CFL but I don't remember for sure.

This was only like day 45 or 50 if I remember. I got 45G dried from it in the end. And ya you can flush the MG with a little work.

Some times I get frustrated with organics and kill something or it dose not turn out like i wanted and I do a seed grow using the MG soil to make my self feel better

My first grow RQS Shining Silver Haze in coco went ok and it was in coco. For my first grow I done 5 and got a little over 12oz.
That was the reason I was doing the regs, I wanted to get a fair amount of seeds I wouldn't be too worried about losing some. But even they haven't sprouted for me I need cuttings hahaha

this might seem like a REALLY stupid question [I'm good at those] ... BUT ... applying Occam's Razor ... have you checked the quality of your water?

Seems you're doing the default/standard germination procedure ... so go back to basics and check the obvious.

Just askin' ...
