I have several books written by Alexander Shulgin. I happened to be reading his book of reflections entitled "TIHKAL."

In chapter 7 "Stamps" Shulgin discusses his limited research and growing of canna at his home. His intent was to determine whether growing conditions affect potency. He was also an avid stamp collector from childhood. The chapters purpose is to relate a "cannabis tax stamp" incident.
As a researcher he was licensed to conduct experiments with government produced cannabis. He was also very interested in collecting the stamps. He made a a second order, but, actually kept the stamps rather than submit them for taxation. This was the gist of the chapter--stamp collecting and how
he unwittingly became involved, as a witness, in a stamp collector's theft of tax stamps from a DC museum.
It appears Shulgin made his first order around the tail end of the 60's, most probably around 1970. He had made his second order in Feb. 1971.
The first order consisted of forty or fifty stamps. He received the following:
*2 pounds of Univ. of Mississippi cannabis (government produced)
*and four ounces of "seeds" and extracts
He did some cultivating. However, he does not discuss the growing or research results in the book nor the disposition of the seeds. There is probably a paper somewhere discussing his results.
Shulgin indicated that other researchers had also obtained stamps for research when discussing the rarity of unused stamps.
OG Kush is cloaked in some strain related speculation as are several other notable strains.
I present this information because it is possible that G-13 had other origins beyond a clone.
