This is a thread for posting frosty seedlings. Over the years I have seen a many frosty seedlings, all photoperiod cultivars, I believe. I'd love to see a few auto frosties...to start things off...here is another photoperiod frosty baby (full-on bulbous glandular trichomes, not 'peachfuzz'), she is GG4 x DosiDo bred InHouse Genetics. I hope she keeps her frosty demeanor.

I don't think I've ever had any not frost if I use a decent lens.

Very nice and healthy looking seedling. However, I'm not seeing capitate-stalked trichomes (look like tiny mushrooms), there are a lot of non glandular trichomes (aka cystolithic aka 'stalks'). I'm referring more-so to glandular trichomes, like the ones found on a flower or sugar leaf, etc. You are indeed correct, almost all seedlings (and all cannabis plant material) exhibit non-glandular trichomes (peach fuzz), especially under magnification, for protection. It is quite a bit more rare to see a seedling or vegging plant exhibiting glandular trichomes. As we know, the gland is where most of the medicine resides, not the stalk. Thanks for sharing and allowing me to make a clarification. Much respect!

Is there something about adding Ruderalis that generally keeps this from forming? Do you know if it is a recessive trait?

I think its just pretty rare in general. In decades of growing Ive personally only seen a few/several in person, maybe 20 or so in photograph. I think as of late with selective breeding (especially now-concentrate era) it has become more prevalent. Either that or there were just so few growers in 90s & 00s and no social media we just didn't see as many plants. The world must be popping well over 1000x more seeds than the old days, and there are now 1000s of breeders and people making seeds. I think in regards to autos specifically, they are still pretty new on the scene, so the breeding work is still ongoing. 8-9 years back IMHO autos were not very high quality, they have gotten much better. Also, yes as far as I know, ruderalis is historically not as high in thc as photos. Its appeal in breeding was the autoflower trait. There are now some seriously frosty autos though, females as well as males. Great time to be a canna lover!
