Back again and can't get enough of these Autos!!
After my first attempt I couldn't help but to grow another batch of AK49 Auto and some Super Skunk Auto. I absolutely loved these two strains as they had very powerful and strong effects. AK49 being Sativa dominant and Super Skunk being Indica dominant gives and awesome choice depending on your mood and the high you wish to achieve. These have been my favourites so far and can't wait to get some more sticky buds!!

As always, seeds were germinated in wet paper towels and seeds had cracked within 48 hours. Super Skunk's tap root was about twice the size of the AK49's but both were planted into Canna Coco/Perlite mix and placed in Vege Box with lights off. The AK49 had a clean coco/perlite mix but due to running short on fresh stuff, the Super Skunk has a mix previously washed with Ryzotonic. I don't see this causing an issue, if anything the SS should start off a little quicker.
Either way both have sprouted above ground within 48 hours and lights were turned on beginning 18/6 cycle. I will give them a few days to get established and by Saturday will give them their first feed.

Seedlings have been above ground for 24 hours now and looking good :)

Update:

Our girls are 5 days old now and coming along nicely. The Super Skunk is powering along which I believe would be due to the pre-charge of Rhizo in the coco. However, although the AK49 is growing, she looks a little retarded on one side. She is a lot smaller than the SS but as mentioned that was expected due the SS having a pre-charge, it's more that the two leaves on one side of her seemed all deformed and out of shape. Nothing has touched her or leant against her at all as she has been inside the box from day one and I've only opened it to look. I did give them both a feed before taking the pics but I made sure I was gentle so she wasn't swimming around, so I can't think why this would be.
I'm only a little concerned at this point as she is still growing at a decent pace and I'm also waiting to see the next set of leaves come in before I really worry. If they look normal all will be good I think.
Posting pics below so you can see what I mean.

Other than that we're on track. I'm putting together the final plans for the new cabinet and should have it built and running in the next couple of weeks ready for these two to stretch up high.

Update:

Our girls are 2 weeks old now and what a difference there is. Talk about insane growth! Both girls have over tripled in size and look very healthy. The AK49's leaves are now growing normal and look much better so I'm no longer concerned. The Super Skunk is looking beautiful and absolutely powering along.
I should hopefully have the new cabinet built in the next week or two so I will be able to move the girls straight in as soon as it's ready. It's already been a lot harder than I thought but now I have all the timber cut it shouldn't be too bad. I'll post some pics once I start building.

All in all we're happy little Vegemites ;)

Update:

The girls have been topped today and I'm looking forward to seeing how they react. Last time I grew these Autos I only did some LST but mainly let them do their own thing, however I'm hoping for better results this time so we'll see what happens.

Update:

Girls were topped yesterday and now looking happy as can be. The pots are taking quite a while to dry out but the weather is really heating up here so it should start speeding up a bit. However at this point their last feed was 6 days ago. I don't want to over water them which is something that has been suggested it looks like I may be doing, but I also don't want to give them a lack of food. Any advice on this front would be great! :)

Update:

Topping these girls hasn't seem to affected them at all. They're still growing strong and looking happy as can be so looks like they were topped at the perfect time.
They were topped at 15 days old for anyone interested and they're still under CFL's and yet they're thriving! :)

Happy days people!!

Thanks Duke, it's great to have you here!
They're 24W CFL's which were the highest I could get. Not sure what they convert to in old terms but they're bright as all hell. Plants seem to love them too
