Hey guys, first time grower here and right at the start of my journey. I have decided on a 1.5x1.5x2m (5x5x6.5ft) tent. Im living in mainland europe and have been on the search for some quantum boards DIY kits after I saw they are pretty good bang for your buck. I stumbled upon these boards, they are made with Samsung LM301B with Far red diodes, use a Meanwell HLG driver and are dimmable 250 watt lights.

Im Gonna go for the 3500k spectrum.

Now my question is I was thinking of getting 3 of these for my grow tent to have a better and more even coverage area, they will be putting out 750 watts but I can dim the lights down. Is it a good Idea to go for 3 or should I just get 2? The lights cost 279 euros a pop too.

Another question I have is how many plants could I comfortably fit in my grow space? Im hoping 6 because I would like to grow 2 plants of 3 different strains of autos.

Any and all advice is appreciated, Thanks brothers and sistahs.

Also if the mods feel this thread would be better suited in the new growers section feel free to move it! The more input I get the better.

I believe 700w will be a bit too much in a 5x5 but you could just dim down and make lights last longer. The light chart you have can't be right either or hlg website would show the same.

Next problem or not problem is growing different strains together. You will want to pick strains that will behave the same way. Fur instance a sativa loves as much light as you can give but to much light on an indica and you will burn her up. Height is another thing that will come into play. If you get one that's bigger than the rest lights have to go higher, which may hurt yields.

But yes all the above will work with a bit of research on strains before dropping.

Ah so the charts are off then... thats not a good sign! is it worth sending the company a message to ask to clear that up? I dont mind spending money if Im getting what I paid for! Im not sure if I can link to the website or not if that would help.

Yeah I figured the strains would more or less need to be a similar height. Thanks for the info regarding whether the strains are sativa or indica dominant I will definitely take that into consideration!

I think its okay to post link. Just not to other forums.

I would shy away from that setup, mainly because of chart and info. They give you upclose pics of everything except the light diodes.

Id go with something like this or just surf through shop and see if you find something you like.

Also the Mars hydro ts and sp series are a really good but cheap light. Seems to be doing a fine job at holding its own against QB

Ok thanks for the recommendations I will have a look into the mars hydro ts and sp series, I have seen a couple of reviews on youtube. And the HLG 550 only has 3000 or 4000k spectrum, that ok to do a full cycle? Thanks for you help. I'll shoot the supplier of the first light I was interested in a message to clear up some information but I will proceed on the edge of caution!

Hey man, a few links to quantum board suppliers in EU/UK for you!
I've got an invisible sun 265 V2 and love it, also have a 260 HLG quantum board from diyleduk which I love but they dont seem to stock hlg anymore but maybe because of the chilled tech growmau pucks - check those out if you have the cash!
Also check out the hlg elites, 2 of those 360 kits from todogrow will beast out that tent!
