Hi Everyone!

This is my first post and grow! Just wanted to reaffirm some things that I am doing.

Seeds: (3) Oasis Genetics Auto Chem OG, 1 Canuk Seeds Auto Cheese
Medium: Promix HP 50%/30% coco /20% perlite, 3 gallon fabric pot
Type: Indoor
Tent: Vivaspectra 24x36x48 tent, vivosun 6 inch exhaust fan, vivosun 600w grow light
Cycle: 18/6,

Alright, so I am currently on day 40 and have just come to the realization that my growing medium may not be as good as I thought. I went into the grow assuming the soil had a decent amount of nutes, which is why I went on to add coco and perlite to increase airflow and softness of the medium. I did not start adding nutrients until week 4 where I used the general hydroponics grow series at 1ml/L. I follow a feed/water/feed schedule, at a ph of 6 - 6.5 using distilled water, and noticed some yellowing so I backed off on the nutes to a ratio of .75ml/L. I really don't know if the yellowing is nute burn or some sort of deficiency, but based on the fact that it hasn't spread quickly then I think it is a burn.

My main concern is whether or not I need to make drastic changes to how I treat my plants. Should I ramp up certain nutes due to the low nutrient count in the medium? Do I continue to treat the plants as is? I really am in shambles at this point as what I thought what I was doing was right for 40 days.

I've gone ahead and attached pictures of my plants at day 40 for all. One of the plants is small and shrubby but the others seem to be doing well.

Thanks!

Are you talking about General Hydroponics Flora Series? Why are you using distilled water?

Hi! Yes I have been using that series. Been running micro, grow, bloom at same ratios. I was using distilled water because I thought it would be better than using tap water (I PH everything). I have only just recently switched to tap water, boiling the water and letting it cool down to room temperature to rid the water of any chlorine.

I think you may be a bit low in Calcium because the coco you added is locking up some. The Flora Series also assumes some Ca in your water using distilled would put you on the low side of need. Do you have Cali-Magic? You need to incorporate it into your feed at the chart rate + a little for the coco.

Are you on municipal water if so get the public water report off their website. Chlorine will dissipate on its own without boiling. But if Ammonia and Chlorine are used it forms Chloramines and we don't want those in hydro not so bad in soil. If you have chloramines it is simple to treat.
Chloramines Removal - You are looking for ascorbic acid - vitamin C. The store brand is usually the cheapest without other stuff added in. 50mg per gallon will treat water with 3.8 PPM of chloramines.

Thank you so much for the help! After checking my water quality it seems the total chlorine count ranges from 0.51 to 3.06. I may play it safe and add enough vit-c for the upper range of the count just so I don't run into any issues. In terms of the cal-mag I just picked up the Advanced Nutrients Sensi Cal-Mag as it was all that I could find, I'll stick to their schedule.

You may get mixed results using different vendor products together?

You only need vitamin C if you have Chloramines! Chlorine does not need treatment just aerate overnight (even this is not really needed).

At this point, I feel as if I start light with the cal-mag then I will be able to tell if I need more/less. The rest of the nutes are the same brand so I won't stray away from their current dosages @.75ml/L. And my apologies, my cities water has chloramine at around 2.2 - 2.5mg/L, it took a while to find the correct information for me. I will thus have to use vitamin C, I've looked at formulas online to calculate the amount needed.
