Indoor First 'proper' grow

This is a first grow using a proper setup, so i thought i would dive in with a journal.



The basics,


1x Auto Blueberry - Dutch Passion Seed Bank
2x Royal Critical Auto - Royal Queen Seeds
1x Mig29 Auto - Auto Seeds


In a DS60 v2.5 tent under HydroponicsHut - Pro Grow 260 LED on just the Blue Veg Mode for now, temps between 75-85F and 60% Humidity and no fan or extractor in use yet.

Germinated in BioBizz light\all mix using scotch egg method, straight into final homemade air pots, after soaking for 24 hrs in plain tap water at room temperature (water always left standing 24\48hrs to de-chlorinate).

Spray misted top soil and covered with clear plastic drinking cups, remembering to put air holes in cups.
All seeds split within 2-3 days and all 4 germinated with no initial problems, although they are only just breaking the soil.

Will give only water n light boosters for the first few days, ph`d to 6.8 (using a pen) as I have very hard water.

I have a bottle of BioBizz Root Juice will introduce this as soon as the seedlings are big enough, also Fishmix as a grow booster in first 2 weeks of veg.

Also there’s Grow\Bloom\Topmax\AlgaMic\BioHeaven to play with in a couple of weeks along with Epsom Salts, Blackstrap Molasses and Sensi CalMag Bloom.


With that arsenal hopefully everything will be ok, only time will tell.



30 July - Day 1 -

They are on a 24hr light period at present for the first few days, 3 are above ground with 2 sets of leaves and the seed casing free, The 4th, Mig29 is just breaking the soil with seed casing still attached.

Just a plain water misting of the soil for now, for all.


31 July - Day 2 -

All 4 seeds are now up and free of seed casings, the Critical no.1 has 2 sets of leaves already.
Blueberry Auto is the runt of the 4 at present but I’m sure that will change.
The other Critical and Mig29 are doing fine, all now range between 1.5-2.5" in height.



1 August - Day 3 -

All 4 are looking well, slight stretch towards the light so I have lowered it to 15" temps are good between 74-84F and RH is around 60-65%.
Will start to lower the RH using extractor when the fan speed controller turns up in the post.


2 August - Day 4 -

I think I will give them some RootJuice\BioHeaven today, only 1/4 strength though to see how they respond. No fertilizers yet only boosters, as they are in a combination of BioBizz light Mix\All Mix soil and that should have plenty of nutrients for now.

PM: Given 250ml water (ph'd 6.8) with 1/4ml RootJuice\BioHeaven for each of the little ones, also switched the flower switch on the Pro Grow 260 so now they are getting the full spectrum on a 20/4 light schedule, let’s see how they respond to that.

Also switched on the extractor for 15 mins every 1hr just to lower humidity and circulate air.


3 August - Day 5 -

They responded really well to the boosters, looking very healthy and have stopped stretching for the light.
The soil looked a bit dry so i fed them again, 1ltr water (ph'd 6.8) with 2ml RootJuice\BioHeaven split between the 4, 250ml each.
Temps got a bit high, 92F with RH 55% so adjusted things to get it back to 84F will check again tomorrow.


4 August - Day 6 -

Again responded well to the water and booster feed, temps still too high 92F, I need to get to the bottom of that one.
Increased the extractor to 15mins on 15 mins off till I get time to investigate.
Given 200ml plain water each, might try a light AlgaMic feed tomorrow.


5 August - Day 7 -

Gave them a good water and feed tonight, 500ml with .5ml AlgaMic\BioHeaven\RootJuice each.


6 August - Day 8 -

Growing well, Critical no.1 is the strongest and biggest of the 2 Criticals.
BlueBerry has now caught up with the rest and the Mig29 is the second biggest.
Temps still a bit high 90F have increased the speed of the extractor again, should get it down to around 86F.


7 August - Day 9 -

Added an inlet fan made from a PC fan and a mobile charger which has helped lower the temps to 83-84F, finally.

Gave them their first dose of Fishmix tonight (it stinks but the plants like it), they all had .5l water (ph'd 6.8) with 1ml each of Fishmix\RootJuice\BioHeaven\AlgaMic.

Judging by their growth rate so far they should respond well to this feed.


8 August - Day 10 -

Temps are now under control 74-84F with 40% RH.

All are looking good for getting the temperature under control and the feed from yesterday, going to leave them to it for today as they are happy enough.


9 August - Day 11 -

Some pics at 11 days old, as you can see all are looking well, apart from Mig29 which has slight bend in the stem, I have turned the pot and placed her nearer the fan to strengthen the stem a bit.
I’m putting the issue down to high temps and her stretching a bit too much in the early stage.

10 August - Day 12 -

Gave them a misting with 2ml AlgaMic in 1ltr water after lights out today, other than that nothing else to report , the Mig29 has straightened out and stem is fattening nicely, all the others are looking very healthy.

I will update as often as possible with pics.

This site is packed with a guys with experience and lots of knowledge so feel free to give any info that could help

Here's a quick update for you all,

11 August - Day 13 -

Fed them today, 500ml water (ph`d to 6.8) with 1ml Fishmix, .5ml Grow, 1.5ml RootJuice, 1ml BioHeaven each.
Looking very good apart from Mig29, the leaves look a little crispy, need to keep an eye on this one.

14 August - Day 16 -

They grown immensely in the last couple of days, the Mig29 leaves are ok-ish and new growth looks fine but its set her back a little compared to the others.
Critical no.1 is definitely the biggest, Critical no.2 a close second, and the Blueberry has now caught up.
Temps are ok at present, between 74-84F and 30-45% RH, Happy days
As they have done so well over the last few days I fed them again today, 500ml water (ph’d 6.8) 1.5ml Fishmix, 1.5ml BioHeaven, 1ml RootJuice, 1.5ml AlgaMic.

I will try to get some pictures later if I can to show the growth.

Disaster strikes

Well......

15 - 17 August - Days 17 to 19 -

Disaster struck power failure whilst away and the trip switch stayed off, darkness for 3 days.


18 August - Day 20 -

Light back up and running, looking a bit worse for wear after no light for 3 days.
Fed them 500ml water with 1.5ml Fishmix, .5ml Grow, 1.5ml BioHeaven & 1.5ml AlgaMic each with the hope they perk up.


19 August - Day 21 -

They are looking much better although the Critical no.1 has slight bleaching of a couple of fan leaves so had to raise the light to 20” above the plants.
Will keep a very close eye on them for the next couple of days, temps and humidity are ok.


23 August - Day 25 -

Feeding time again, time to introduce the Bloom.

They have had 500ml water (ph’d 6.8) 1ml Fishmix, 1.5ml Grow, 2ml BioHeaven, 1ml Bloom and 1.5ml AlgaMic each.

Critical no.1 looks the worse for wear for 3 days without light, 2 of the lower fan leaves have died off and with slight leaf bleaching she looks pretty shabby, hopefully she will pickup.
The Mig29 is the most sparse looking plant and is the only one that smells, it’s a bit like coffee, I expect that will change with time but not too much I hope, looking forward to trying this one.
Critical no.2 is looking well, good height and bushiness, although the Blueberry is looking the best of all, quite compact and bushy.
Will try to measure them and take some pics next water.

Just a quick update,,

27 August - Day 29 -

Watered and fed, each got 800ml Water (ph’d 6.8) with 3ml Fishmix, 1ml Grow, 3ml BioHeaven, 4ml AlgaMic and 3ml Bloom, starting to get taller now and growth has exploded over the last few days.
All are now between 40 and 60cms.



29 August - Day 31 -

Watered again 1ltr (ph’d 6.8) each with 2ml Bloom, 4ml AlgaMic, all are 100% Female and showing the very early signs of Auto flowering as well.



2 September - Day 35 -

Fed 1ltr water with 3ml Bloom, 3ml AlgaMic, 3ml BioHeaven, 2ml Fishmix and 2ml Grow.
Had to do some LST as the plants are getting a bit big for the DS60 tent.



4 September – Day 37 –

1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) for each, they are drinking quite a bit at present and have stretched to 70-75cm.
All are throwing out decent amounts of pistols and trics are appearing on some of the leaves.
Can’t take any pics at present, hope to be able in the next couple of days.
Had to LST both of the critical plants as they were getting quite tall, hope they have finally finished stretching as I have nearly run out of height in the tent.

5 September - Day 38 -

Fed 1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) with 2ml Fishmix, 3ml Grow, 3ml BioHeaven, 4ml AlgaMic and 4ml Bloom.
The plants have thrown out loads of pistols and is starting to bud nicely.
I don’t think putting 4 plants in a 60x60cm tent was the best idea I’ve had starting to get very cramped, lots of tying and tucking going on which makes watering a bit of a nightmare.
The Blueberry is looking good and very healthy, Critical no.1 has been LST’d the most but has the most bud sites, Critical no.2 has also been LST’d and looks good, the Mig29 is now filling out quite nicely, but if it doesn’t stop growing will also have to be LST’d.


7 September - Day 40 -

Fed 1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) with 4ml Bloom, 5ml AlgaMic and 4ml Topmax, starting to get a little frosty around the bud sites, now they are starting to look very tasty indeed.
I have also LST’d the Mig29 as she was nearly touching the light, the only one that hasn’t been LST’d is the Blueberry and she is looking very nice, if only I could fast forward time by 3-4 weeks.


9 September - Day 42 -

Fed 1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) with 4ml Bloom, 5ml AlgaMic, 4ml Fishmix and 4ml Topmax.

12 September - Day 45 –

Fed 1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) with 5ml BioHeaven, 5ml Bloom, 5ml AlgaMic, 2ml Grow and 5ml Topmax.


16 September - Day 49 –

Fed 1ltr water (ph’d 6.8) with 3ml Fishmix, 5ml Bloom, 5ml AlgaMic and ¼ tspn of Epsom salts as Critical no.1 has mag def.
She was the one who grew the quickest and tallest to begin with should have given it sooner, oh well “live & learn” as they say, let’s hope it stops it quick so it don’t impact the yield too much.
The Blueberry looks the finest and looks like it might be the one to give the biggest yield, smells kind of fruity now and is looking the most frosty.
Critical no.2 is throwing trics all down the leaves, will try to make hash with these and overall is doing well.
The MiG29 looks like it will take longer than the rest as she has only just started to frost up and needs to swell up a bit in the buds.
