First so far successful grow, but my autos (amnesia haze XL auto in back and northern lights auto in front) are both over 6 ft tall including their 5 gallon buckets. AH is 8 weeks old and NL is 7 weeks. The roots are growing so thick theyve started splitting the net pots and i fear the weight of the plant (both are over 20 lbs) will cause the base of the plant to collapse into the root ball. Why are my plants growing so big and is it a bad thing?

please ignore the smaller plant in front as it got overshadowed by the first 2 and is already flowering even though its 4 weeks younger.

This is an example of how times have changed...obesity is such a problem these days...get them girls some exercise...and stop feeding them carbs....

Love your grow brother !:biggrin::d5:

I believe growing autos in DWC changes the breeders description, veg longer and get bigger. Looks like they started flowering? I think most of those in the auto pound club grew theirs in hydro. Your in for one heck of yield!

I gotta tell ya those plants look great! My personal experience with DWC is just like @iampepe says longer veg usually 7 to 10 days and biggest plants ever. Supporting them was often an issue. I also became very proficient in super-cropping. Watch the PH swings as the plants ramp into flower and the available water space in the bucket becomes limited by the root system.

I dunno and not judging but those electric cables in the back seem pretty stretched and potentially not safe. Only one picture but doesn't look ideal to me. Make sure each plug is fully secured into the socket, some extensions (especially cheap ones) have a habit of not holding the plugs in tight enough and this is what usually causes fires. Just a word of caution in case you have not considered it already. Better safe than sorry.

Other than that, plant looks sweet!
