out of soil 24 days all 5 females, size 10" bushy to 20" leggy. all under 24hr lights, agromax small tent with 4 4ft t-5's and 1 135w ufo leds. leggy plant shows most bud development smaller plants show better yield. budda grow products for nutes. all got the same lights, soil and nutes. should I care about the size differance?

No.Are the leggy ones all the same strain?, or are they mixed sizes within the two strains?

Welcome to AFN and the New Growers forum. How high above the plants are your lights? Ideally you want about 1" of space between your leaf nodes. Without a picture to see for sure I suspect your node space is a lot more. You may need to lower your lights some.

Yes. Bought a 5 pack of seeds and they were all the same and only one is leggy. I think one of my many mistakes was having the led only 20"-24" over the center of the grow area for the first two weeks. The center girl has now gotten 22" tall and the space between branches is getting less, max 6" (center of plant) now 4". She has brown tips on the upmost leaftips but is very pronounced in her branch arch toward the led. I think she looks good, no droop in any leaves, good color. I have raised the light as high as I can and every body else likes it and are getting fatter and slowly taller, two of five plants 18"-15", one 13" and the runt 10". The rund is the late bloomer also. I was not careful in my planting depth and germiniated in the 3 gal. growbag it is in now. I am following the feeding directions on the budda grow nutes. How do I stop the up growth and get my girls fatter?

Thanks. I guess there as many ways to grow as there are growers. I have already started a list of my mistakes and will adjust for the next grow. I am a computer idiot but will get pic asap. The ufo is round and I thought the others might not be getting the benifit of the 7 band light. I have also changed my 4 t-5"s from 6400k veg to 3000k bloom. The buds on the leggy big girl are filling with white hairs at a faster rate than others and the runt of the litter is being a runt and shows very few white hairs on buds. These plants grow so fast that I have decided to make this grow a real learning grow and make my second grow a true quest for quality herb. The mistakes made in the beginning will effect everything that follows. I know that my yield will not be the 20gr per plant I was hoping for but I don"t think this grow will be a complete failure. Now that I have your help maybe I will learn quicker.

I have the same problem with my c.caramels raising the lights everyday.I had them on a shelf and had to remove i and put my girls on the floor. You realy can't stop the vertical growth but once they start filling up with pistols they will slow down. If you run out of room for height you might have to start bending the top down gradually with a string so it's almost horizontal. If your other girls are to far away from the light raise the pot up by putting them on some old pots or wooden blocks to raise them closer to the light.

I have to go to work now but it really is nice to know I can get help. Since only one of five plants is acting different ( in a good way I think) I will raise the others and lower the light to within 12". Sound ok? Also will lower the nitro.

I have just checked grow. leggy gone to 22.5" all the rest, except the 10" runt, show better bud development. I don't think my problems are as bad as I thought. Most of the info I was using was directed toward photo not auto or hydro not soil. The design of the tent kit I got may be one other reason. The kit was rated for 6 plants using 4 T-5 4ft 6500k's mounted to the posts and a 90w 7 band ufo led hung from the center top. I upgraded to a 135w 7 band ufo led. When I burned it in I saw the light pattern just covered the floor of the tent. I don't think the outer plants got the benifits of the led like the center (leggy). I also think I over did the feeding and made the veg stage too short.

Hey there vg, hope you're doing well.

Cool light setup you got running up the posts with an LED in the center. I wouldn't get rid of the 6500k bulbs altogether, I would run a mixture the whole time, but that's just my opinion. Many growers have done both ways. Just move that LED down some it sounds like and you should be better off. Good luck.

Thanks. I am new to social networking never sent e-mails and will screw-up if I play with this computer too much. You'all have given me a chance to stop and think. I should have waited until I found a autoflower group to start my grow. Still I am having a ball and even if this fails the next grow will be right.
