Indoor First Grow Attempt: 250w Dresser Stealth Soil Grow

Alright guys, this day finally comes when I think I'm ready and have every thing needed for a successful first grow. The dresser is 31 in x 17 in x 36 in (LxWxH). 250w HPS Sun System 2 with an 4" EAP 200cfm fan. Germinating 1 Afgan Kush Ryder and 1 Himalaya Blue Diesel as of late last night. Possibly might throw in a Kannabia Seeds: Mataro Blue or a La Blanca auto if theres enough room. Also have 1 Short Stuff Onyx and 1 Super Cali Haze auto.

Anyways, running the 250w HPS/127 watts of CFLs. One 23 watt soft white CFL and four 26 watt daylight CFLs. Using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil and Blue Mountain Organics nutes (Grow it green & Flower Power). Heights an issue with a max of 15-22 inches depending on how much higher I can get the light, how close I can get the plants to the tempered glass on the hood without burning them, and also how tall the grow bags are. Update as soon as they both hopefully pop, then onto tupperware containers, then the final 1-1.5 gallon grow bags. Wish me luck, and enjoy the show. Opinions wanted!!!

If u can try 2-3 gallon bags bro i dont think theres much difference in height and ur yeild will be better..JMO GL

Everyone says to use 1 gallon for the autos entire life considering my height restriction, and I have to keep the light away from the plants about 6" which I never took under consideration. They say in a 1-1.5 gallon grow bag, the roots will have plenty of space. Think so? The grow bags are 3 gal's and are very tall for the space and somewhat skinny, but I can do some math and fold the edges down to make them anything under 3 gallons.

I got a question for you guys: When can I utilize the 250w HPS and get it on the autos? When it shows preflowers? Can I use it before then, and keep them under 127 watts of CFLs for only a week or 2? Thanks

Thanks Homer! Does the HPS make the autos stretch a lot? I need to keep them small-ish. The dresser gets VERY hot without the AC on 24 hours a day! The ballast is built in the hood so temps fluctuate a lot. If I keep the room at like 73-75 I can stay around 78-81. But I sleep in the same room and its frickin cold. : / But its definitely do-able.

hi stealthgrow i would put them under a clf for a week or so to give the plant a bit of grow fist then all the way with the 250w HPS, i keep mine under 18/6 but you can go 20/4,

Yea, definitely trying 18/6 because of the heat upstairs where the dressers at. And maybe a smaller electric bill. But anyways, I think I'll let them break soil and do whatever they wanna do under the 127watts of CFLS for like 8-12 days then onto the 250w HPS. Sound good? Nervous and excited.
