Hello AFN,

I've been growing photos successfully for many years now, and I'm at day 57 of my very first auto grow. My main motivations were to try something new and to cut down the time It takes for a successful grow, so autos seemed to fit the bill and so far it's going great . I've lurked here for about 6 months, reading and learning.

Here's a little info on my setup.

My system is a stealth cabinet 4' wide by 6' tall by 20" deep
400 watt HID Mh in veg and 400 watt HPS for flower in a vented sealed hood
One 2.5 gallon GH Power Grower Eco in hydroton under a Scrog screen

One Bomb Seeds THC Bomb Auto 18/6 from seed

Base nutes are
Canna vega and Flores

Additives are
H&G Roots Excelurator
Big bud
Sensizyme
HydrOguard
GH Cal/Mag
GH Diamond Nectar
Atami Bloombastic

Now my question is about the timing of things for autos. With photos I've pretty much got it nailed down as to when to flip the lights, switch additives, when to flush etc. but I'm a little flummoxed (I never get to use the word flummoxed, so exciting ) Because I'm just not sure where I'm at in flower at the moment. As I said earlier I'm at day 57 from seed and 25 days from when I switched from MH to HPS for flower. I'm treating it as if it were the end of week 4 of a photo, using big bud and sensi for bud growth, before I switch to Bloombastic for bud density. But not knowing where I'm actually at, development wise, I'm not really sure what I should be doing. It looks to me like it's younger then week 4, like the buds still have some girth to put on, but agian, being a noob to autos I just don't know. So if anyone can give me a general timeline, or an idea of how long Flowering generally lasts for autos, I would be greatly appreciative.

Welcome to AFN. At day 57 I expect that your plant has stopped stretching and the buds are filling out. Basically they show sex around week 3, then go into about 3 weeks of stretch, about the same as most photos. Generally you want to feed veg nutes until the stretch stops. Some people like to start adding in a little bloom nutes around week 5 or so. Once they stop stretching then it's all about fattening up the buds. With both MH and HPS lighting you can control your plant height a bit by when you switch. I've not run that setup but probably at least 4-5 weeks of MH before switching. Someone with experience on that setup may have a better idea. Your flowering stage will likely be about 5 - 7 weeks depending on the strain.

If you can, post some pictures so we can see how it looks. It's a lot easier to help when we can see what you're doing.

Yup like the big man said..you will see about an inch of growth a day or more then it will just stop .I hit with bloom .and keep up with the cal/mag .

I made the mistake off backing off on the N a little to much. Lucky for me it was towards the end anyway. It happened super fast. I thought it was just natural end of life defol but it spread like wildfire.

Yea happens ..I did the same thing back in the day. Think we all did.. that transition is tricky lol Its a learning process.
