Hi Guys,

I've been looking through this forum for the last couple of weeks now, found some very helpful and useful tips and thought i would give it a join see as i am a couple of weeks into my first ever grow (complete newbie!)

I'll give you an idea of my set up...

I purchased the Fast Bud 2 by Sweet Seeds (only germinated one for trial). I'm running 3 x 41W CFL's (450 Lumens each all 2700K). I got some cheap multi purpose compost from a local garden centre and lastly just yesterday i purchased Bio Grow by Bio Bizz. I'm also growing out of a DIY cupboard lined with aluminum foil (matte side). I don't have anything to test PH, Temp or Humidity.

I'm on a light schedule of 18/6 this is with a timer.

Now two weeks ago Thursday my seedling popped from the ground. I had germinated paper towel method on the Tuesday, got the tap root Wednesday then planted that night.

I'm hoping you guys can help me out share some advise/shed some light and just give me an opinion on how you think she's doing.

About a week into the grow i had made the big mistake of putting her to far away from the light so she became really leggy and started to really reach eventually it became to much that she flopped, so i got some advice off the forums and added some more compost and had no further problems.

Everything seemed to be fine from there on out got some real nice leaves going on, although, the first single bladed leaves seemed to look a bit strange... some points on the leaves were facing up and some down, they are also really thin, not sure what's going on any ideas?

The plants starting to look real nice just on here five bladed leaves which is nice to see (considering the very poor set up). She is now currently on her 16th day since popping up from the soil but as of yesterday one of the leaves have started to get some sort of bleach marks and the tip of the leaf seems burnt. I'm guessing this is because i went OTT with keeping her real close to the light that i did it to much, but i have since lowered her and haven't seen any further "damage". I Think this is the problem but could anyone share any advise?

As of today i've just give her a first feeding of the Bio Bizz Grow Organic Fertilizer. Only 1ML per 1L, i've read the horror stories of nutrient burns, but i'll see how things go... Probably over watered her as well which is stupid considering i've been feeding her every 5 - 6 days... just went nuts with the water and had loads of run off. Soaked it up though and just going to keep an eye out. Has anyone else had any experience with Bio Grow and Auto's?

Anyway i have attached some pictures, so if anyone could take a look and give me any sort of feed back or there opinions it would be much appreciated!

(Last picture is obviously the most recent.)

I'm also thinking about doing some LST which again, i've only read about, just wondering any thoughts on this... grow space is quite small so it would be ideal for me to get a smaller bushier plant, again if any one could shed some light on LST'ing auto's that would be great!

Sorry forgot to mention for the people that are not familiar with Fast Bud 2 the seed banks states fives weeks, i know obviously that's in perfect growing conditions but it's probably because of the lack of light mine is growing real real, real slow.

Thanks for checking this out anyway Im going to try and do some regular posts so you can see how she comes along.

Probably better for me to make clear as well (if you haven't already guessed) on a serious budget especially while i test the waters, but again any feedback would be much appreciated, Thanks.

hey man sound like my first attempt low budget learn on the way. id say with a plant so young you don't wanna over water rule of thumb finger into the 2nd knuckle if its moist leave it, if its dry think about a water. I don't think its nute burn I used the same nutes and I ended up feeding a full 5ml per litre towards the end as they where drinking a litre a day. I LST all of mine easiest way is get some gardening twine or wool loop over the 3nd or 3rd node from the top gently pull down (you can always adjust after) and sellotape to the pot. its a great way to achieve better light penetration, hope that helps :)

I'd say you have a combination of things going on. First is that actual wattage or equivalent wattage?

Thanks man ill deffitnitly give the knuckle trick a try and the LST! Glad to hear about the nutes, really not sure what the bleach marks are then... It must be the heat burn

Hi again CK

Think nam has identified a problem for you already, 27w (actual watts) of light (while should be ok for a seedling) definitely wont be enough to grow the plant out.

You could get those lights within 6 inches of the seedling wi a gentle breeze blowing between the light and the seedling

A chap called si has done some very usefull threads on biobizz, I'll try and find one for you and post back here (although on my tablet ATM so a bit limited)

Hi Blue

Thanks for the link! Really good stuff think I have an idea now of a decent feeding schedule. As for the light do you think adding another one would make much of a difference? Really hoping to get something out of this plant considering the budget I'm on mainly just to see if it's possible

Thanks again

Hey :) no worries.

Adding another 9w will only take you to 32w - that's still a little low to really do the job for you. Have you considered getting a 125w cfl bulb - if you type that phrase into google images you'll see what I'm talking about. They're not too expensive, you'll also need a lead for it if you don't have a reflector with an attachment.

I'm not sure how expensive the small bulbs you are using are, but I imagine you'd need another 4 or five of them plus socket attachments to get a favourable result. It might work out cheaper just to get the all in one bulb

Just my thoughs :)
