Hello There AFN!
Thanks for all the info the site provides. After reading until my eyes were almost bleeding about grows I decided to give it a try. Put together some materials and PH & PPM meters (cheaper models) and away we go.
This is a first attempt at trying to grow indoors and DWC. Please try and put up with me as I am about as big of a knob there is!
So was trying to prove the concept to see if it could be done in my current situation. Limited space for any type of grow cabinet. Started with a small cabinet I had 16" X 16" X 45"
(guess you can call this a micro grow lol)
5 gal reservoir
(running 4 gal nutrient mix w/ general hydro flora series also cal mag and some hydroguard)
2 air stones 2 air pumps
300W LED round style light (no sure of make running 18/6)
Couple of small 5" fans bringing air in & out also a 6" fan for circulating
PH 5.6 to 6.1 (learned to deal with swing)
PPM 650 (with todays water change)
Air temp 70 to 80
Water temp 67 to 71
Humidity 25 to 45%
Started 5 auto fem seeds from AMS in rapid rooters. 2 White Widow 2 Super Skunk & 1 Blueberry with fear that only 1 or 2 would show. Nope I was wrong all 5 were up by day 4 into the DWC with them.
After dealing with wet feet (overwater I believe) reservoir temps and PH swings for awhile there, didn't think I would make it this far. So I find myself crammed here in this little space with these ladies on the move with hopes that the weather will get nicer here for moving something outside if need be but that's not the case also. Did pull one of the S S and its under some CFLs now so its down to 4 now.
Some LST & leaf tucking to get the light to where it needs to be but feels like a loosing battle!
If I make it as far as flower I have made a 2" x 2" grid screen with some wood and mason line for holding them up.
Will graduate to a 2' X 2' X 4' tent for the next attempt at this but still feel like I will be restricted by height. I am guessing even that size tent is for 1 or 2 plants the most.
