I just talked to a person from fox farm regarding ther soil mix. They have 2 plants that make the soil one on the east coast and one on the west coast. The only diference is west coast uses cedar or redwood to make the compost, and east uses pine, other than that everything is the same and nothing else has changed. He also said there should'nt be any problem with direct seeding in the mix, (to hot)other than that nothing has changed in the mix.He also said as long as your input water is correct ph don't worry about the runoff water ph the combination of all the ingrediants in the mix changes that and it is seldom accurate. If you try to adjust the runoff to correct ph you will end up with a fucking mess. Now thats what he said and he sounded like he knew his stuff. You can take it or leave it and do what you whant but i'm just the messenger.I personally am just going to adjust my intake water and leave it alone.

Ive used FFOF for years, and Ive always just corrected my feed ph and never bothered with runoff unless I thought I had a lockout

Good to know. I was having a runoff in the fives and thought there might be a problem but this answered it for me. Thanks...

Good information, but....Always check your R/O Ph. If it's going south, you must adj. for it...Marijuana, in soil, is best ran at 6.00 to 6.30. As optimal...Now most other plants don't need that tight of #'s, but if you want no problems with your grows, then....:2cents:

Also, nutes will change the ph as will the plant itself, as it goes from veg. to flower...

What's your plant telling you?

I agree with ripster,if ph really goes below 5 i would think some adjustment is needed.Go in with a higher ph intake or some ph up solution.

As long AS NEW GROWTH is not yellow or burnt looking I would think your OK. But would not want my Ph in 5s no matter what.all I do is water with phed water and lets plants tell me what's wrong...its up to us as growers to diagnose.sometimes this is hard I know.but as long as new growth is coming and fresh looking I would think your OK.try to get ur Ph up to 6.3 to 6.8 there are some household items to help with this. You may want one of seasoned vets to Co sign to this hope this helps:peace:

I think like a few others have said if your plants look good and no obvious signs of a problem thats all that counts.E verybodys grow is unique on its own and with the help from afn and the good people that give there input there is no problem we cant fix. Lets grow um and smoke um .Good day to all!!!!!!!!!!!
