Alrite ppl I'll be startin my first autoflower grow in a few weeksand I had a few questions any replies are appriciated.. If I'm growing 3 or 4 plants under a 250w hps light, could I get away with just having 1 or 2 desk fans blowing around it as its only a small grow?? Also I've read so much on soil but keep getting different answers. Wat soil would be good?fox farm or biobizz? I want somethin organic or decent but don't want to burn the plants as I've read autoflowers like soil in low nutrients and airy soil..? I'm not gonna feed any veg fert on week 3 or so dependin on how the plant looks I'll start a slow dose of grow and bring some bloom into it after a week or 2. Thanks ppl

:wiz:fox farm ocean forest soil is hot i know maybe try to start them in fox farms light warrior i always started in the ocean forrest stuff no probs this time but my first grow i did have probs really its up to you im sure someone who knows more than i do will chime in soon good luck

The desk fans will work nicely. You just need a little breeze to get fresh air to the leaves constantly.

And don't sweat it too much. Easy plant to grow. :)

A few things a 250 watt hps is going to put off heat, so you need to make sure you are exchanging the air in your grow area, this is KEY!, an air cooled hood is the way to go, as heat can cause a serious issue. You might want to consider an blackstar LED, it will put off less heat and be just as good. Lots of grow jounals here using blackstar LED's including myself. You can check my grow in my signature. Also Fox farm is a great soil but do not put seedlings in there, the soil it to hot. Start the seedlings in starter plugs, or some jiffy potting soil. Then transplant them into the fox farm soil in about 2 weeks, 3 gallon pots are what seems to be the norm for auto's. Also just to add make sure you PH YOUR WATER. Knowing our PH of the water you use is also key, wild ph swings can lead to problems you want to keep your PH around 6.5 to 6.8 for soil. You can get a cheap digital PH meter for about 20 dollars on ebay.

FF Ocean Forest has never "burned" my seedlings. I only grow 1-3 plants in 1 gallon pots, in grow boxes, and FFOF is the best organic-based soil I can get locally, in smaller packages for only $9. I mix-in 2 tsp's of Happy Frog Jump Start into it, and let 'er rip, no issues, unless I make a mistake. Just add water for the first 21-30 days.

I germ in Rapid Rooters over a cheap $20 Sunleaves heat mat (necessary) and in a cheap dome that's used for Coco pellets, and either just soak the RR plug in ph'd water or add a tad of Bloom formula, great results. Then just pop the RR plug into the soil mix in 4-7 days, and they make transplanting easier, if you do that.

Keep your ph consistent and right, and it works every time.

i use bio bizz light mix seems to be pretty fine :peace:
