New Grower female seeds

hi has anybody tried to produce female seeds from an autoflowering plant i've got some think different seeds and at £7.50 a seed i would like to be able to produce my own seeds to cut down the cost (i'm on a budget):cry: i've heard for photos if you grow them long enough they will produce male flowers would this be the same with autos any advice would be gratfully recieved thanks guys Will

I'm sure you can because auto fem seeds are being sold at different stores.I don;t think its any different than making seeds from photos.If you order reg seeds and find some males take it and a female and grow them together away from your reg grow and they should produce seed. Keep in mind im not a breeder so I could be wrong.If i am wrong someone will let us know.

yes you can produce feminized seeds from autoflower plants, but you need colloidal silver to do it, and the process takes a while, you basically run electricity through a piece of silver in water (dont remember if its distilled water or not) and the silver ions get released into the solution, and you spray that solution on the flowers for a few weeks.. but the only problem with it is you cannot smoke the buds after.. i mean technically you can, but ive read youre not supposed to. which also brings up another question, apparently when youre making the colloidal silver you cant have it in the light because the photons from the light cause the silver ions to degrade, but if the bud is in the light wont it cause the silver ions to degrade over time eventually as well? idk the answer to that but if you asked me dont risk it, maybe just throw some CS on one plant when every grow and live with tossing out some buds.. hope this helps, god speed

You can also buy the stuff premade on Amazon and the like but make sure its at least 50 ppm. The reason why you have to spray your plant daily is because of the light degradation, depending on your ppm you have to spray up to 3 times daily. What I plan on doing is an isolated spray. Taking my plant out of the grow room, putting a bag over her, isolating her lower branches outside of the bag, spraying the bud sites, remove the pollen sacks, take the lower branch from the opposite side and pollinate, smoke the rest of the plant.. bam there you go.

Apparently the pre-made ones that you can buy from on-line are really not the ppm's that are labelled and people have issues using those when it comes to creating fem seeds.
There are a few members here who have been making their own C.S with great results.

You would need to use 99.99 or .999 silver and distilled water to make your own

Thanks Squid, it's what I plan on doing with one of my girls, from each strain I get. 2 lower branches is all that is needed.

Realcarlos is correct though, so you have to do your research and read reviews. 30 ppm is the bare minimum for feminized seeds for photos, I plan on buying a 50ppm bottle that has been reviewed and guaranteed to be at that level and spraying twice daily. Once she begins to flower I will put it into effect until she makes some plump sacks lol.

If you make some homebrew, you can spray once daily with 150 ppm or higher. 30-50 3 times daily, 50 - 150 twice daily, 150 - 200's once. That is what I feel is a decent spray calculation after what I have read on the subject. Spray during the off cycle of your light, or allow the spray to dry for 30 min to an hour before putting back under light. Remember water and light on leaves do not mix.

After the sacks form, move her out of the grow room, then put the bag back over her, and GENTLY razor or clip them off closest to the stem into a ziplock, cure it for two days or so until it cracks open and then you should have a bag of pollen, apply with a paint brush to the other side of the lower branch ( remember to keep the bag on her) and allow to set for 1-2 hours then allow a fan to blow directly to remove all loose pollen and while doing so give the branch a gentle shaking motion, even then you still may not want to put her back amongst your ladies for a full 24 hours.

Once the bud site has closed and you see pod formation, allow a week or so for the branch to feed and produce some quality seeds, clip the branch, and the stem will continue to use all of its remaining energy to feed and nurture the seed at an accelerated rate, I am telling you this method produces some really good seeds, since the entire stem removed knows its going to die, it puts that seeds production in hypermode in order to produce the highest chance of repopulation. Remove the seeds and discard or hash the remaining material.

This and a daily spray, put this in a spray bottle and you won't have to worry about another bottle for a few full moons.

If your strain goes pass the finish date and produces male flowers ....that might mean the your said strain carries hermaphroditic genes.

If you breed a herm you get female, male and herm seed. You do not get 100% female. Proper breeding is done by stress testing either the strain or the exact pheno to be used if it is a photo strain.. When you stress a plant you learn, after a good stress test. You can be much closer to a properly made female only seed crop. But lets remember pollen is airborne, and special precautions must be taken to assure that your plants can be breed in a pollen free area. Many time people find a male seed in female seed stock many of the instances can be because of "loose" pollen. Many outdoor location in Europe and the USA are not for outdoor breeding of female only seed. Proper breeding can only be done indoors in a sterile environment where the air intake for breeding rooms is HEPA filtered, and human contamination is considered.
