I saw some good reviews on the Fast & Vast. I got some assorted beans on a great deal from haze.io and grew out auto Candy Kush in dirt first. Now it's on to bigger and better things.
For a start, I put some Hydroton in the bottom a a 2.5 gallon waste basket with a 3/8" or so hole 2" up. Filled the rest with 4:1 perlite and vermiculite. Cut the bottom off a yogurt cup and stuck it in the middle, scooped out the perlite and filled it with seed starting mix. A clear plastic cup made a little greenhouse. Light is a 300W (150 or so actual) PopularGrow LED.
Planted on New Years Eve after a 12 hour soak and it was up in a couple of days. Here she is around day 4 from sprout.
Let's see, that's something like Jan. 6. A couple days later I started DynaGro Grow and ProTekt at 1/4 tsp. per gallon. When she got a little bigger I went to 1/2 tsp. and that's where I am now day 20. She's growing fast in the hempy and seems big for her age vs. dirt. Next watering will be 3/4 tsp. to see what whe can take.
The layer of hydroton's so the medium doesn't get thrashed around when I water her and to keep down the algae down.
She seems really happy so far.
