Just setting up my small grow tent, 80x80x180. Set up the 4 inch Rhino hobby filter with rhino extractor fan. The filter is hanging in the tent, ducted to the fan which is sitting in the hole on the top of the tent, with further ducting attached to funnel the air into my room.
Anyway, when I put the fan on and close the tent, there is a lot of air being sucked in, pulling the sides of the tent inwards. Is this normal, or a problem to be cured?

Negative pressure is what sucks in the tent walls and that is normal. Make sure you have a window cracked for fresh air.

that's normal are you using your flaps for fresh air open 1 at least i have 2 open on my 120x 120 x .200 with a high p[ower 5-inch ruck fan

Cheers. When you say a window cracked, do you mean opening the vent in the tent, or a window in the room that the grow tent is in?
I don't think I had the tent vent open, so this is an oversight on my part.

Have one of the lower socks open by its self or use a short piece ducting for incoming air. Or open a lower window screen. (And yes, crack a window in the room where tent is located if filtered air blowing into same room).

Regarding the filter and exhaust, do you run this 24 hours per day from seedling to harvest, whether the lights are on or off?

I usually keep my exhaust off for the first week, helps keep the humidity up inside the tent. Then after a week or so, I will adjust the fan speed accordingly depending on the temp and rh% inside the tent/cabinet.

If I plant the seeds directly into the pots, would you dome them to keep the humidity high and run the lights until they emerge from the soil? I want to keep transplanting to zero.
