the power died at my place because of a snowstorm (what is this crap?! it's october!) but anyway, my plants are without light now, and i'm worried about the effect this will have on them. any recommendations as to what i should do? just leave them in the dark? thanks!

yo dude!!! I'm in the miiddle of the same storm..

i agree ... frikin bs!!! its rocktober!!!!

get em near a window... use as much supplememental light during their normal lighting time as you can.. lets not forget from whence our articifical lights came! :smokebuds:

hope you get power back soon.... hope i dont lose it..

:smokebuds:

Rent a generator, put it outside, fill it with gas, start it up, plug in your lights. save up and buy your own and put in a transfer switch to change over easily. The most important thing is of course make sure your television is plugged into it as well. My light rack is 1400 handred watts. Any 2000 watt generator works for me. I also put the water pump and air pump on it as well.

i rent, so the generator is out of the question... but i'll get them as much light as possible (next to nothing right now) i assume candles are pointless?

should i try to reintroduce them to their lighting schedule gently tomorrow (maybe a like 18/6 then back to 20/4 the next day or something), or just throw them straight back in at 20/4 and hope for the best?

aMooie gote both ways.

No much you can do about it now. I bring mine out into the room, and open the shades to let some sun light in if it's sunny out.

I have also used one of those PC power back ups. They have 1800 watt version that will run a 600 watt system for a few hours. They also have bigger industrial ones that will handle meat freezers. So budget is your only limit.

If you got HID lights unplug them. The only time I used to lose bulbs to failure is when the power used to blink on and off. The bulbs need to cool down before you hit them with power again.

On and off..on and off go my lights :(

LED here.

Power is going to be out until Saturday it looks like. I got 2 maglights to use at night (about 150 lumens total), but place your bets for how many hermies I get now....
All the stores that might sell a legit camping lantern are closed because of power outages too. I'm thinking this grow is fucked and I'm sad, but hoping for the best...
