Question for the gurus:
Can physically moving plants from one light source & location to another light source & location have an adverse effect on my plants?

i have 2 durrty d's @ 4 weeks and move them daily from outside in the sun during the day to inside under LEDs at night: 12 hrs outside/8 hrs inside/4 hrs in dark. One of my plants is half the size of the other but they have been grown under the exact same conditions...wondering if moving them around could have stressed the little one or something

I do basically the same thing with all my plants, 12-16 hours of artificial light 4-8 hours of sunlight. Do they both look healthy? my guess is they're different phenotypes and are fine. The only negative attribute I've heard about moving your plants is pests :bong:

yeh...i can attest to the pest thing...i got hammered by leaf miners and come to think of it, the smaller of my girls was hit much worse and lost several fan leaves...that may have contributed to her stunted size

moving them isnt usually a problem... but if they arent ready for the intense sunlight sometimes they will blech a bit... and yes... obviously pests can attach themselves if you move them to an infected area ... :toke:

same here.. my grow is crap all around because it's intensely hot here and my cab is minute. the air is fresher outside (albeit ovenlike in the shade).

everything i've grown in this location has been stunted.. had spider mites and leaf hoppers due to placing them outside. fortunately with such small plants they were easy to manually debug.

splurging for some more fans atm, it's quite possible that by august they'll remain inside, apart from seedlings, who are usually unobtrusively located on a windowsill. glad to hear that two "lights" is working for others!

i'm in a really hot climate also - that's why i have to move my plants around during summer. my grow tent is in an un-airconditioned place and during the daytime in summer the temps are over 100 in there, so i put them outside in partial sun during the day. at night i put them under the lights in the tent and the temp is about 75-80...i definitely have my best results in the winter.

100 = yikes. been there a few times. i'm not journaling atm because my plants aren't worth posting.. kinda surprised that my bubblegum (photo) is the most heat tolerant strain. still growing at half rate, but she's still mostly green.

sometimes think of posting a pic of a bunch of brown, shriveled and totally crispy 4" plants as a POTM somewhere... my "grow" cemetary. but i'm not that sadistic bcs it hurts to see..
