Sweet Seeds Dark Devil, Barney’s Farm LSD. Yummy!
I have a small plastic vinyl greenhouse and usually have a 4x4 raised garden in there for veggies and the occasional auto flower. Well I tore out the 4x4 and replaced it with a pallet with two dishwasher trays and two Easy2GO valves with one of my reservoirs from my indoor grows.

I would use a 4x4 or two 2x4 garden trays but they cost as much to ship as they cost to purchase. So, until I find a local resource for a decent, yet I’m sure will be expensive, garden tray I will be using two $5 dishwasher trays from the local dollar store.

This will not be a full journal, figure out your own nutrient mixtures or follow one of the many full grows available on AFN. This is just a proof of concept thread to see if I like this idea and for others to benefit form my success or failure. Anyhow here are a couple pics to start this out. The ladies are a strain from Cream of the Crop seeds called Crop Circle Auto. The are a fast growing short auto that I had some really bad luck with my first batch of their seeds and they were nice enough to send me ten more seeds that so far, are not looking bad. Haven’t decided about the second tray yet but will be filling it up soon.

At my local hydro store have all kinds of big tubs and trays like bigsmo uses, and they have these 4' long by 7-14" deep trays variety's and I thought about using them for a similar project as urs because I could run 3 strains in it with plenty of room or run 3-4 smaller same strains in a soil set up. Could maybe put some pond algaecide in ur water And stop anything from growing. I put goldfish in the big horse tanks with some algae eaters and it maintains it pretty good.

I'm in. Cool journal and eager to see this! Would also work great in my backyard setup. Thanks @HemiSync
:welcome: aboard! Not really a journal, more like a pictorial of whatever the heck I throw in there. Might use the space between the cannabis for lettuce or something. :smoking:

Yea my local (44 miles) grow store has them but at $75 for a 3x3 so I might be using these $5 trays for the season. Another issue with the ones at the store is that they are really ebb n flow trays and the channels in them are too deep for what we want to do, as you would need a lot more fluid to fill them.

Something else to keep in mind is that the autovalve is not recommended for larger than a maximum tray size 13ft.², and a minimum tray depth 1.25".

Hi Hemi, interested to see how this turns out.

My only concern would be what i experienced indoor running similar setup, which was the growth of algae in the tray. It's why the standard autopot model works so well IMO!

Mine is about the same distance away also, wondered how big of tank those would work in. Maybe use two
Biggest tray they say it will support is a 13 ft.² which would be a little bigger than a 3x4’. I was going to use a 3x3 ebb n flow tray until I saw the price tag.

One of my concerns as well. Although, I have one autopot tray in my tent right now that has a one gallon fabric pot sitting in it instead of the normal autopot. This leave a large area around the pot that is exposed to light and yet for some reason I have not had any algae growing. Outside I’m going to use weed barrier cloth to cover the open trays. So hopefully, that retards any algae growth. Thanks for looking out.
