Hey everyone. So glad I found this forum! Lots of good stuff in here.

First time Hempy grow here. I'm growing a Easy Ryder. She seems to be doing pretty well. I think she got alittle stunted at the beginning due to some heat issues but she bounced right back once those roots hit the res. She is only 5 inches tall but bushy as hell.

At any rate...how is she looking? she is about 1month and 3weeks old and been flowering for about 2 weeks. Oh and I'm starting to see some small green spots on the perlite. Is this algae? how can one stop algae growth?

Thanks:toke:

She does seem a bit stunted mate. She is a frosty lil girl! I am currently running a few ER's, and a few others here are as well. I want to do a hempy grow as well when I can get the time to actually water every day. How often are you watering? What nutes are you running? I am guessing the green is algae, you could use a very weak hydrogen peroxide mist directly on the algae. But if it was me I would just put some sort of lid or light blocking cover on top of the hempy bucket to prevent light from reaching the algae. Just cut a hole in the lid for the stem.

What a hempy grow?

Are you just growing in perlite?

Hello Maximus
A hempy grow is a passive hydro system.
You fill a bucket with perlite drill a hole 2 inches above from the bottom of the bucket. The bottom 2 inches below is a reservoir

cool, sounds good. I wanted to do that with rockwool before.

Thanks Doobs. Yea she is real frosty and getting frostier by the minute. Smells really good too. Thanks for the tip on algae. Think I might try the hydrogen peroxide method first. Would a 3:1 ratio of water:hydrogen peroxide work you think? or even less?

I'm giving her PH'd 5.8 water every two days and then feeding her every monday with a healthy dose of Techna Flora Nutes. Its the "Recipe for Success" Kit. It come with everything you need. Also been doing a flush every 2 weeks or so.

realcarlos is absolutely right. For my first grow I wanted something fool proof and forgiving....hempy buckets. Its working out great so far. I did 3:1 ratio of perlite and vermiculite.

hmm now im very interested in this hempy method lol, very nice looking girl btw

Hey Roller that's the mistake I made when I tried hempy bucket.
I was using perlite and watered everyday when it was supposed to be every 2-3 days or what not. I over watered it

Infused what medium are you using to hold the plant itself?

3:1 h202 mix is a bit strong, I would do more along the lines of 9:1. But if you do not see massive amounts of algea, then it is really not going to have a negative effect on your plant. They are not parasitizing your plant, just there because it's the perfect environment for them. They are probablly eating some nutes, but as long as the colony isn't massive, it's a minimal amount.

Are you guys mad 17.5% h2o2 is dosed at 5-10ml per 10 litres thats i think 1:2000 maybe be a tad more:crying:
never mind 50% pure
