My last two germinations have been Hellish, or is that Hellacious.

Planted 11 seeds (8 Kinds) last month. Got one Auto survivor. Shes happy, thank you. Planted only six this time and only 2 kinds of seeds: 2 Sour 60s from MDanzig (1 popped and germed) and 4 Critical+ seeds from Dinafem (none popped). My first 2 germinations were almost 95%. I thought I had at least that part down. I thought I was doing it the same. Obviously not.

I use the standard method of 3 or 4 paper towels in 2 dinner plates. I dont use the shot glass. They usually start poppin as 36-48 hrs.
These last 6 have been under for 96. 1 popped and germed, 5 didnt.
I use distilled water and keep it heated from below.

Help. Ive got 2 empty tents.
Lookin to get growin!

Welcome to AFN, texas. What some people do with a stubborn seed is gently bite it with your teeth until is cracks slightly. Or you can take a razor blade and cut it open along the seam. If that still doesn't get the taproot popping, you could always plant anyway. I've read where some people plant seeds that won't germ and they eventually break ground on their own.

I have ran into this problem recently, always had 100% germ rate with papertowls in the past. I tried soaking them in a shot glass til they sunk and shown a tap root, with better luck. The water will help soften up the shells.

what are the other condtions like you keeping them to warm? drafts kill seedlings and planting them before the tap root gets to long is key to survival well as the media.
There not colored towels are they?
I'm just poping mine straight into root riots now with no issues with a touch of seaweed extract. Also some shops keep there seeds on there shelfs to long I had that issue once as well
