I recently started a 5 gal dwc setup with 2 highrise freebie autos... They're looking quite healthy from the top view but underneath my biggest one has some what yellow roots when out of water, but in the water they look white. Is this the start of root rot? My ph is about 5.5 been that way through whole grow now, could a fresh bath of water help this perhaps?

My nutrients that I'm using are GH rapid start, GH 3 part flora series, I'm wondering if I'm missing anything by chance? I've read somewhere that supplements might be a waste of money but my last grow with these nutrients produced less than I usually get with Miracle Grow, so I thought I was definitely missing something.

My air pump is a Whisper 10-30 3.1 watts, with a 4 inch air stone.

Sorry for the lack of pics I can't seem to find my usb cord for my iphone

Thanks in advance :peace:

Edit: I'm also using Liquid Kool-Bloom for flowering phase

I've been told as far as air use 1w per gallon. What is the water temp. Any bennies? The heisenburg tea works wonders. How are the roots? What's the ec? How old? I'm new but read about lol and drive soil with no issues

Yeah, I've read about 1w per gal as well, figured I'd try anyway lol. Water temperature stays around 65 or so, I've been using a frozen water bottle to keep the temps down. Bennies? Roots are going good now for growth, it's just that they're starting this yellowing on my biggest one. As for ec, I have no idea, that's ppm correct? They're about 2 1/2 weeks old, starting to get growth spurts every now and then, my biggest one nearly doubled the other one in just a few days, just showed pre-flowers today, so now I'm a little worried. They're also both in the same netpot, lol

I upgraded my air pump today to the eco air 4 from ecoplus, on the box it says 5 watts, but on this website it says it is 12 http://www.hydroponics.net/i/132912 I know it'll be enough for my one 5 gal bucket, but I was planning on adding another 5 gal bucket, so I'm wondering with the other specs of 1.175bls/sq. in and 9 liters/min I could figure out if it could handle 2 buckets?

No the rule is like 1l air for 1l fluid

5 US gallons = 18.927 liters min 15l of air
5 Imperial (UK) gallons = 22.730 liters min 19l of air

I certainly should use enzyms in a dwc setup and also avoid other organic compounds!:2cents:

That pump is only pushing like 9l so hardly enough for one bucket !
