Dutch Passion DP Test Grow #5 in DWC under LED

Hi Guys

I'm back with my new diary. DP Tony has very kindly sent me some beans for a new strain, so thanks mate :clap:

I've just read that DP aren't going to go with this strain, I'm unsure of the reasons at the moment, although, after looking at other diaries and seeing a few of my own plants, I'm pretty sure I know why! I'm going to see how my plants get going before I decide if I'm going to abandon the grow. If I get a couple of good plants I'll probably grow it out and feel honour I've got some smoke that only a select few have tried

So I'm growing with Canna Nutes in DWC. My lights will still be my (amazing) Budmaster 405 and my 378 watt light that is from the old manufacturers of hydrogrow.

I popped all 10 beans I was sent I'll be taking the best 6 in to the 6 plant bubbler I've made so I can start off six plants with minimal res change outs and hassle. This was I can choose the best 2 after a couple of weeks and put them in their own buckets with their own light. Hopefully I'll get 2 good plants this way.

It's also worth mentioning that whilst they're in the 6 plant bubbler they'll be in my 1.2 x 1.2 tent but will be moved to a larger groom I'll be working on over the next couple of weeks where they'll have loads of space to get nice and big

I've made a welcomed addition of an RO filter to my kit. My water has a starting ec of .72 which is ridiculous. During my last grow I was making a weekly 40 minute round trip to my parents to get 40 liters of water that was .40 This was a royal pain in the arse! And I'm sure I had deficiency problems due to the high calcium of the water.

Now I have a lovely starting background of 0.0. I'm free to give the plants exactly what they need and in the correct ratios, which I'm hoping will make a massive difference.

I've given the res a starting base made of SensiCal with a touch of Nitrozyme which, in affect gives me a starting ec of .4 made up of the perfect ingredients. I've topped it up with Rhizotonic and formulex to an ec of .8. Ph is 5.8.

8 of the 9 beans (1 vanished! lol) popped and 2 didn't develop very well so it was easy to pick the 6 to go in to the bubbler. to of the plants are lush green and the other look a little bit yellowy red, so hopefully, I'll have 2 good plants to take to the finish line!

ive just been reading about dp ditching the test autos so their must be something a miss somewhere down the line but i think thats the whole point of doing tests to see if their are any problems that need to be ironed out

i like the idea of the 6 pot bubbler which is pretty creative and will help ween out any weak plants

did you finish that taiga grow and if you did how did you find it, ive been away and ive got loads of catching up to do

Yes mate, the Taiga was indeed finished. You can find my completed diary if you've got time. I got about 4 wizards off the good plant and about 1 off the small one. It's a really nice smoke, pretty strong as well. I can tell it's a strong sativa as I can't sleep after I've smoked it as my mind is racing! Unfortunately I had to take my plants down after 3 days of flushing so the taste isn't so clean but it's still decent.

I'm liking the 6 potter, I wanted to start of more plants to get a better end product by process of elimination, so I had the idea.

I'm really excited about the RO filter, should make a huge difference. You obviously don't have any problems but it might be a good investment if you grow again. I got a portable one for £55 delivered. It's giving me a starting ec of 0.0. Can't really argue with that!
