Has anyone here ever used dolomite lime in with soil mix using biotabs in autopot? I want to just use water in the reservoir and I have just gotten a bag of dolomite lime. Wonder how much I should put in. 15 litre pots.

i know they did some tutorials on youtube and mentioned it dont remember the amount

I emailed biotabs, just for future reference they recommend 40g per 15 litre pot.

Man...that is like...a LOT of dolomite, I'd advise less than half of that. In his YouTube video on optimizing cannabis yields, Dr. Bruce Bugbee of Utah State University argues that the best potting medium is a 50/50 blend of sphagnum peat and vermiculite, with 20g/15L of dolomite lime to adjust pH and 5g/15L of gypsum. That's assuming totally un-buffered peat and verm, this mix arrives at a final pH of 5.5-5.7 which is close to ideal for a fertigated cannabis crop.

If you're starting with some kind of soil mix that already has some calcium in it as a pH buffer, then adding double the recommended dose of dolomite lime, you'll likely end up with far too much Ca and Mg in your soil and a pH above the optimum range.

I'm using 50/50 biobizz light mix/perlite. I'll stick with the 20 grams so. I'd rather be under than over. Can't fix it if there is to much

personally id listen to the guys who make the product they dont sell you the lime so they get nothing out of getting you to add more
biotabs self regulate the ph so the lime will not affect this from what i understand

Well that's good advice. I will go 40g, sure if it works great if it doesn't lesson learned.

do you have a thread going id like to follow along
i only did one grow with bio tabs i didnt really know what i was doing they were just on the market so the plants went a bit long and ran out of food but still grew some big plants i want to try them again sometime soon now i have watched a few people use them

Biobizz is already a buffered potting soil, and Perlite is essentially neutral. Not sure what the lime is being added for unless your biobizz pH is way out of the expected range.

If biotabs don't work without gardeners adding 80g dolomite lime per cubic foot (40g/15L) of bagged potting medium, then they're a horrible fertilizer.

I want to ask where you got your recipe? 50% perlite plus a light mix means it's probably 65-75% perlite and only 20-30% peat.

Are you following someone else's guidance that a mostly perlite medium with a huge amount of dolomite grows great plants in auotpots?

Honestly, I want to send you good vibes, but I think you need to step back from your recipe here and reevaluate your whole strategy.

I want to use biotabs method of just adding water. They suggest 50/50 soil/perlite mix or 50/50 coco/perlite. I'm going with soil. As autoflowers seem to require more calmag especially grown under the latest tech leds, I don't want to add calmag to my reservoir and risk it sticking and leaking. I know I can turn off the system and add it by hand but that just defeats the purpose. So they suggest using dolomite lime for added calmag.
