@Bryant22! :welcome:Welcome to AFN:welcome: I think your meter is on the wrong scale? I cannot find the SpiderFarmer 450W but the 480w has a par map at 8 inches , 10 inches That at the highest 1384 in the center =~90 DLI in 18 hours at 8 inches.

At 24 inches the numbers look like this mathamatically:

2022-09-09_12-46-38.jpg

PPHD = ~ 153

24 inches above the canopy should be around 10 DLI in 18 hours.

Not sure how your measuring DLI, but when you said a DLI of 85, I was expecting to see fried plants. Unless your referring to what % power you have your light set too?
What do you mean like right now my DOI is it 72 of this plant I’ll show you a pic are you saying that the LI has nothing to do with wattage … Sell in my grow tent my DLI on my canopy is probably 85 in the middle and 7273 around the edges and it’s a HLg 650… So if I have it 650 W and have it at 70% and say it’s 400 watts…that has nothing to do with dli?

That’s under 68 dli I’m using an Photone iPhone app with iPhone diffuser…it works accurate …and in my tent on my 12/12s my ppfd or whatever was 1300…and they’ve haven’t been curling or anything perfectly Healty… Starting to think dli overrated

Ok so at 24 inches above the canopy you will be getting about 60 DLI with that light at 100% power. That is about the useful maximum DLI.
Some additional growth is possible after 60 DLI but it is not worth the energy to accomplish it.

It all has a lot to do with how much DLI your plants receive. I also use the photone app as a rough guide. Your plants look great. Thats why I questioned your app settings. I expected to see burnt leaves, but you do not have burnt leaves. In my mind a DLI of 85 equates to one big ass light too close to the canopy.

Example:
I am using a 200 watt full spec LED panel
I am running my lights on an 18/6 schedule
My goal is 40 DLI
I can run my light at 70% power @18" to get that DLI number
Or I can run that light at 100% power @26" to get that DLI

The more powerful your light, the more options you have. Assuming you have dimming capabilities.

This is a DLI chart right off the photone website. I actually started a thread about it a few weeks ago. I'm trying its recommendations in my present grow.
