Hey guys/gals

I’ve been looking into building something like this to make my growing easier this year and being a cheapo.

I’ve seen several of these but looking for a great build I can replicate and will work for certainty with coco/perlite.

I’ve seen them bro they look cool. It’s what I’m ping for basically... but they’re like $110 in the UK for a pack of three. I reckon I could build two of them for under $25.

I’m really thinking of building one similar and giving it a shot. But I worry about the stagnant water that will be seated in the bottom resi... wondering if I should add an air stone or something to them...

This looks good, as in cheap and easy! My approach would be to top water and fill the reservoir when gone for several days. This might keep the reservoir water from stagnating. I guess the roots would have to go deep to find air. That could be good too!

I havent built these yet. But Scotty says they work perfectly

I made something just like this using an upside-down colander in the bottom, kept constantly watered via a res with a float valve. Worked out really well! I think they are called Alaska buckets. I have since made a 6 pot DIY system that is basically homemade Octopots which work out really well. I can fill the res and leave them for days!

Mind posting a pic of your diy octopots bro

If I remember right @Zeromitch made one using upsidedown net pot lids that are for 5 gal buckets? Seemed to be really easy and should work well.
