DIY Diy drip irrigation system

I really like building and tinkering with stuff and some days I dont feel like watering my plants. So I started thinking of a self watering system I really like the auto pots but just never pulled the trigger on them. I have a small grow space so it's not like it's to much work to hand water but some days I'm lazy . I look at getting the aqua valve from auto pots and use a garden tray but I could not find anything I really like. Than I found drip systems on Ebay for cheap so I ordered one that came with 20 dripers and 30 feet of 1/4 in line . I did not want to hook it up to my houses water because it is city water and has a high TDS like 300+ I wanted a resavore and wanted to use RO I bought a small aquarium pump its 180 gph and a 6 outlet manifold. I hook it up and it did not have enough pressure to use the dripers so I made some drip rings out of 3/8 od 1/4 id by connecting them with t fitting and drilling 1/16 inch holes about 1/2 inch apart the rings are 8 inch in diameter . I hooked every thing together and tested it out they worked perfectly one ring pumps out 1/4 gallon in 2 minutes and 30 seconds and I am using four of them. I bought a digital timer that had many settings and can turn on as little as one second . For my resavore I got a 6 gallon water container that is low profile I cut part of the top off and put my pump in it along with a small pump to circulate the water. I put everything together and have the timer to run for 15 seconds 12 times a day I will have to adjust the time as my plants grow. All together it cost me 28$ for the pump 5 for the tubing for the rings 10 for the water container and 8 for the drip system from Ebay which I only used the 1/4 tubing. I also bought the manifold from Ebay for 8 bucks. I spent about 60 bucks I could have save a little of money but I was experimenting so oh well.im very happy with everything so far. I am going to try it with coco next grow for a more hydro like set up right now I'm using soil.
