Hello AFN, I have had a journal going on another website but decided to move here for more auto knowledge and feed back. This is my first attempt at growing cannabis and I have put in a lot of research but still have already found things I could have done better/different. This is a kinda low budget setup I'll be adding and modifying as I go. I need some help and just general convo along the way for encouragement. I am currently on day 10 and before I tell about my setup I will put it out there that I planted them all in miracle grow potting soil :( now I know the reasons why not to use it I want to finish and see what I can do with these three and try to improve on the next run. Any way a little more on setup

Lights= 4ft 6 bulb t5 fixture above with 3 ho t5 54w 2700k and 3 6500k. Side lighting consist currently of 6 23w 6500k cfl and when they show signs of flowering I'll be adding 3 54w 2700k cfl as well.

624 total watts/ roughly 54,000 lumens

Strains= royal queen seeds/ royal haze auto, white widow auto
Dinafem/ white cheese auto

Soil= miracle grow potting soil :(

5 gal pots = no transplants

Temp= hi 77 low 71

Soil ph= 7

Rh=41

Light cycle = 18/6

No nutes given yet ( help needed here especially since I used miracle grow I'm stuck)
As stated before I have given no nutes and were 10 days in they have had 2 watering one of which was today. Here are a few pics.

your in the right place,lots of help n tips.still to early for nutes yet but if i were you id wait another week then give fox farms grow big at 1/2 strength and see how they respond.check the tips for burning a few days after.if none,id continue w/ that for veg.

Thanks for the feedback... I've already got more info here than a week on 420. I'll look into the bites the only real concern I had with them was the MG soil I used being hi N and time release burning later during flower but I'll start them off on a low dose and see how they take it

Day 11

Ok folks day 11
Room temp = 77
Rh = 39 (I'll be adding a humidifier to the room today to get it up a little until they get into flower good)
Soil ph = 7

Here are a few pics of the white cheese auto/dinafem she is growing like crazy every day I check her out I am surprised

This is the royal haze, she looks healthy just not growing as fast hopefully she will come along later

And here is the white widow auto / royal queen, she shows new growth daily just not that as vigorous as the cheese and since the beginning she has had a little droop in her tips. I haunt been concerned so far. Anyone have any feed back or is this normal sometimes?

Thanks guys any and all feedback welcome.. hope y'all join me on this grow

It may be too soon to tell but it doesn't look like the Miracle Grow is hurting you any ... you are probably watering very carefully so if it's pre-fertilized you haven't awakened the prills yet ... they look great for their age ...

Thanks for the feedback Chester. You are correct I have really been trying to water correctly. They have only had 2 watering and one of which was yesterday. I hate I used the MG I have seen it used around the house so much I just popped them in it and read bad reviews a few days after they sprouted. Thanks again for the feedback keep an eye on me if ya have a chance. Try not to let me mess these ladies up

Update:
After researching more into humidity and temps today I found that during veg state the best rh is between 50 to 70 percent?

Mine is ranging between 25 and 33 percent with temps ranging 72 to 78 degrees.

Today I added a humidifier to attempt to get rh into optimal range during veg and will lower it or place on timer during flower to lower risk of mold.

I also have a water question for any experts out there. Keep in mind my miracle grow soil but I have access to free ro water at my job. With my setup would it be better to use the ro water or my current method I use tap but I let it sit out a few days to get to room temp and help eliminate some chlorine then i aireate the water With a battery powered bubbler for a few hrs before using to get o2 levels back up....... Thanks again guys all feedback and assistance is appreciated

The water question is a tough one ... as long as you're not getting funky results from your current water stick w/ it ... but I would have a couple gallons of RO on hand in case you need to do a pure water flush. Generally if you were going to see a negative response to the soil it would happen in the first 3 weeks ... because you haven't wet the whole friggin' pot like many do, you haven't melted all that many fertilizer prills ... I'd do just what you have been doing water wise and realize that fertilizer may not be that important to you since your soil already has some in it ... I'd slowly start to increase the water and area that you get wet ... at about 3 weeks I'd start a general wet and dry stage w/ water every 3-4 days or even longer apart ... any fertilizer should be used 1/4-1/2 strength ... you're almost home free ...

Awesome advice Chester thanks that's exactly what I needed I have read pros and cons of both but I'll stick with the.tap water and have a 5 gal ro jug on standby. I'll continue to use water sparingly or as needed until there old enough to handle the MG..... Thanks for keeping an eye on me I'll be updating daily...

Ive used miracle grow a few times in the beginning with regular photo-period strains with success. I actually found i had to add more nutes to promote flowering. I dont use it anymore and would never go back but i honestly saw no problems with the soil.
