Hello, all. As we are going to be a part of this great forum I thought it right to put up a small bio on how Dinafem seeds started experimenting with auto flowering genetics
.
In 2008 Dinafem Seeds began to experiment with autoflowering cannabis seedsdespite the fact that they weren’t much in demand at the time. After the first trials we came to the conclusion that they had great potential and that they could be a major step forward for cannabis growers having to deal with harsh climatic conditions, short, cold summers and the like. This opened up new possibilities for people that otherwise could have never dreamt of growing outdoors and we were willing to work in order to provide a solution to this sector of the market.
It was then that we decided to create our own autoflowering strains combining their advantages with the excellent genetics we already had so that we could obtain a range of seeds with enhanced qualities. This is how in 2009 our first autoflowering marijuana seed was born: Roadrunner Automatic.
Autoflowering cannabis seeds are referred to with different names: autoflowering, automatic, auto, etc. In either case the important thing is that it is a cannabis type whose genetics, known as ruderalis, comes from areas with extreme weather such as the south of Siberia, the north of Kazakhstan and Russia.
The main feature of this genetics is its extremely fast flowering speed. The flowering does not rely on the photoperiod, that is, on the day/night light changes of the season; it occurs naturally regardless of where the plant is grown. Autoflowering seeds produce plants that flower once they reach maturity and are not affected by external conditions. This tends to coincide with the development of the seventh node after a growing period of about 5-7 weeks.
Autoflowering marijuana seeds develop fast and are very easy to grow. This is because, having originated in harsh environments, they became strong and hardy and started to flower at the speed of light out of the fear of dying, as true survivors.
These cannabis plants are small sized, between 30 and 80 cm, which makes them perfect for small spaces both indoors and outdoors and can be grown in a discreet way as they tend to go unnoticed. In spite of this, at Dinafem Seeds we have managed to make them high yielding and to preserve their quality. The flowering period of these seeds is very short, their life cycle ranges from 60 to 90 days from germination to harvest. At Dinafem Seeds we are convinced they are a really good choice for outdoor cultivation in areas with short, cold summers. Moreover, if summers are long, they can be harvested several times in the same season.
