hey all i just got my digital ph pen delivered and it needs to be calibrated. but it didnt come with any calibration solution/fluid. the only thing i have that can really be ph'd is biobizz bloom and wondered if anyone knows what the ph is of it. so i can calibrate my pen to test the water/runoff correctly,
Any help will really be appreciated :)

thanks

Hey Cloud

I don't think thats going to work for you mate :(
On my pen when i hit calibrate, it only wants to be callibrate to 4 or 7 ... i only ever calibrate mine to 7 so i have the ph7 buffer solution.

If you calibrate it to something else, you'll be out every time you use it. (unless you're absolutely certain that what you've got is exactly 7 - i would only trust the buffer solution myself)

All the best

Blue

With that pen you still need buffer solution 7 :smokebuds: You then dip the pen in the solution and turn the screwdriver until it says 7 on the pen. Its now calibrated High 5

it can be calibrated at any ph as when the screwdriver is turned it moves it by 0.1ph it was supposed to come with two packs of buffer solution but didn't. i have contacted the seller to request them.

Iv had a pen like that before bud,you need the solution though to calibrate it properly, are they sending you some out? the solution will give you a bang on reading of 7 and just turning the screw without solution wont work,or using a solution without a very stable ph won't give you an accurate ph reading imo.:smokebuds:

the seller has not responded yet but the solutions that where ment to be sent where ph 4.0 and ph 6.86 so im hoping he sends them out i just asked a friend now if he has got any i could use to calibrate it for the time being.

As Red and Blue said you realy need the calibration fluid bro ive had that pen before and to be honest it isnt the best but it will do the job o.k for now but if you get the money get a better one. I paid like £35 from my hydro store and its a self calibrating one to either 4 or 7 but i still need to use fluid every so often to make sure its on point. You mentioned you have bio bizz bloom? Do you have any other bio bizz product or soils? If so you shouldnt have to PH it:2cents:

To be honest the bio bizz soil's are probbs the same price as the ones from a garden centre so if your on a tight budget then use what you have got does it say feeds plants for upto 3-4 weeks? If so it will be quite hot so i wouldnt add any nutes for 2-3 weeks:2cents:
