Hi im doing my first grow ever, im growing 2 3week old gorilla glues in 20litre pots and 1 3week old northern light all grown in coco/perlite mix. Under a 600w led the question is since week 1 everytime i watered i saturated the pot 80% and from week 2 onwards ive saturated the pot fully, i just wanted to know if i have made a huge mistake or if it is going to afect strong root growth or yield they do look healthy at the moment but just want to know if this will afect them in the long run

Coco can be treated as a hydro grow, you would have to work at it really hard to overwater.

When I'm using coco, I'll feed 1 a day, small amounts until she has a root system established, then 1 gallon every 24 hrs in a 3 gallon bag of coco. That keeps me at or above the 20% runoff, even during heavy flower, and still makes mixing nutes simple.

Coco is also not a "water only" medium. Always feed something

Thank you for your reply bbutthats what im worried about tho because ive been fully saturating the pot every watering since seedling will this affect my plants forming a strong root system i know its probably a dumb question but im worried this is going to be a problem

I have just started my very first grow and in Coco as well.
It really does seem like impossible to overwater as water just runs straight through when the Coco doesn't want anymore, I think you would need a pot with no drain or very bad drain to have done any damage.

Ok thanks for putting my mind at rest bro

yup, and good luck with your Grow Cong, they are starting to look great!
When I use Coco + Perlite (I use Mother's Earth, however, I'm going to be trying out as many as I can for some medium reviews soon) I always use Gaia Green Organics Dry Amendment Slow Release Nutrients, Takes the guesswork and re-amend the medium every 25-30 days.
I would suggest looking into Dr. Earth, Gaia Green, or other slow-release, dry amendments to help ease your way into using nutrients properly for your gals. Just my .2 cents. :toke:
:dragon5:

Do some looking before running coco with dr earth... you will find the infirmary full of attempts by new growers that found their way here to ask for help. And few answers, as coco and soil usually require opposite corrections for same issues.
Long time growers will use coco, or soil, not a combination... there is a reason we don't mix the 2...
