Hey guys! So based on the trichomes on my buds, I need to harvest soon. But that is at the top 2" of my buds. The rest of the bud is under the canopy. I want to strip all of the fan leaves off so that the other half of the buds that are under the leaves can develop a bit more. Since everything above the fan leaves are ready, can I cut the fan leaves off and just leave the buds on for the last few days?

Nice looking plant!
I have been harvesting in stages. I have been defoliating through flowering.
But I find the tops are done but the bottom need another week so to really ripen up.
I have done 3 cuts of a single plant but that was just trying to get every last bud.

I do.. Inside and out. I trim or manicure and manipulate through out the entire grow . Because I mostly work alone. I start to harvest trim a week before I harvest the plant in stages. It may take 2 or 3 weeks to harvest some strains like this. This harvesting is more for smoking flower. Flower that is ready for concentrates need not so much care at harvest time.
But trimming while the plant
