Hey Gang,

So, this is my second indoor grow, third grow total with the ladies still going in my greenhouse. For my second round, I am running an experiment. . all the in the name of 'science' (and learning)!

I will be comparing nutes: General Organics versus Roots Organics

I found the GO to be great and easy to use, but I am not wild about their new ownership, so I am looking at other nutrient lines. I like what I am seeing from Roots, so I figured I would give it a try. Given the way I learn, I figured this would A) be a great way to compare nutrients and B) be a great way for me to learn more about nutrients, schedules, etc. In the long run, I'd love to build my own soil like many of you do, but I am working my way up to that point. It is definitely a learning process.

So, here goes!

Two plants. Both Deep Blue C. Planted them on Thursday, both sprouted yesterday (12July2015)

Grow Medium: Sunshine Mix #4

Pots: 5 Gallon Smart Pots

Lights: Mars 144x 3 Reflector.

Closet set up is pretty simple, basically on metal shelving in the corner of my garage, which has pretty great temp control, good air movement, and ventilation. It's AK, so I'm not worried about stealth, but it is secure for sure. For now there are some decent pics on my other journal, for the grow I just completed. .

I'll give a little water over the next two weeks, but mostly let them coast. At two weeks, I'll start mild nutes and work my way up to full dosage.

OK. . . We're off and running! :headbang:

Good luck bro, will be following along for this so just gonna pull up a seat and crank up the vape to enjoy the show. I got a Deep Blue C going at the moment and she is turning into a beautiful plant, such a intriguing colour starting to come out in her leaves now a real dark green that does almost look blue when catching the light.

Good Luck, Awesome experiment and I couldn't agree more that GO's new ownership
has me looking for alternatives. (At least for the CaMg+ and Armor Si that I use)

If your RO regimen contains HPK, be careful...it'll burn autos pretty easy if administered
to early or too copiously.

Can't wait to see how the Deep Blue C's turn out for you! Gotta couple in the cue as well.

Spanglish, happy to have you along for the ride. Just checked out your grow, ladies are looking great. I am excited about this plant for sure!

Thanks for the tip Trapper on the HPK. I will go light on it to start. I am honestly, still reading in to things a bit, but I figure I have two weeks til I start administering any nutes, so I have some study time!!

Thanks Margahooja! I look forward to comparing notes on Roots nutes. Everything I read, including their blog, social media, etc makes me really want to like them. Small, community-minded company. They are growing the shit out of some veggies, too. We'll see I might have to work them into my greenhouse operation next year for tomatoes, etc!

I am excited for this test run and experiment.

Oh man, these first two weeks feel like the slowest! But these ladies are starting to get going. After what felt like a painfully slow start, their starting to grow more each day and that change is noticeable. They both at 14 days from sprout.

Fed my first feeding last night to both of them. I'll keep them on the same schedule.

For both, I fed based on company recommendations, only variation was that I started things at 1/4 strength and 1/3 gallon of water. Personally, I like to work up to things rather than start out full strength.

The plant that is being fed Gen Organics looks a little funny, she's a bit of an odd one, but she looks health and her leaves are getting more normal with each set.
