Hi, everybody!

I am planning on maybe trying to breed my first seeds this summer, and my first outdoor grow overall. My goal is to make my own strain that i can grow just for myself. I have searched internet and read all my growbooks, but there aren´t that much info on auto/semiauto breeding.

I live in northern europe, where the air is very humid, and the risk for mold is very high i think. So i look for a mold free strain.
I also want early flowering, becouse the fall is here already in the middle of september.
I also want a good yeild of course.

I have some seeds of the Swedish/Danish strain "Thyphoon". I will try to breed these for some more seeds, but also i want to cross it with some other strain.
Female seeds have a semi-auto strain called "Grapefruit" that may be a good cross. Any other early strains that can be a good cross? And can i make Thyphoon into Auto Thyphoon?

Other then the Thyphoon, i will grow Auto Blueberry, Purple Mazar, Annapurna, Nirvana Sky and Number 1 this summer. Can one of these strains be a good cross? Or should i try to cross it with another photo strain?

One interesting thing is that when i talked to the breeder of the Typhoon seeds i asked him if the TP were a photostrain, he said that it was a semi-auto. Becouse it flowers early. Then i thought that they may be crossed with another semi, and result may be good?

I am new to breeding, especially (semi)autobreeding, and if someone want to point out something of give me some feedback. I am greatful. :)

Strain hunters got some info on the strain too. Google "Thyphoon"+"Strain Hunters".

hey hejdaman, dont know enough to be able to help u, but will be along for the ride, hope to do something like this in the future, i would sub but i dont know how, so i will be droping in to see how ur getting on, good growing karma sent ur way:)

for years esben worked with GG just as I have, my Blubonic Guerrilla have excellent mold resistance, GG(guerrilla gold) is a well established early flowering variety and seeing that its an IBL it will add hybrid vigor to most all crosses. Breeding for mold resistance has been something that I have been working on for a few years.

I'm not sure about the typhoon but I do believe esben used GG in that cross also...

There is a fine line relationship to large buds and to big buds... Density of the bud can allow moisture to be trapped near the stem and without very dry conditions mold problems seem to always occur. I have spent most of my grown life testing strains for mold resistance, and I can tell you for sure....that IME you will not find a superior mold resistant strain in a large named breeding house. Small breeders in canada and in northern europe are way ahead of the game. It is in there best interest to breed mold resistant strains.

The best piece of info I can give you is to look for outdoor breeders. One reason is that seeded crops are even more prone to mold, and the sear fact that they are working northern strains producing seed crops should suggest that they are somewhat mold resistant.

C99, Biddy early are also known for mold resistance. There is a C99xGG offered at rcmcollective.ca that finishes in mid to late aug. breed in BC canada. I will be testing this strain this summer for mold resistance, and comes highly recommended by the breeder.

Thanks ggsm555. :)

Cres: I know a couple of guys up here that are growing outdoors, and they have been growing their strains for a couple of generations too. Maybe i should ask them if they have any seeds left over i can cross with. I was going to buy seeds from you, but i can´t wait for them. I got to have them right away. But next year, i will have all your strains growing. I have opened my eyes for growing photo strains lately. I really like to grow Bluebonic Guerilla Pearl and Early Grape.
Maybe they can be a good cross for next year? If it is ok with you? :)

Have you grown Typhoon yourself?

Nope not typhoon... I encourage people to use my strains anyway they want... If you pay for seeds your paying for the right to use them anyway you want.

Back in the day, Early Pearl was king of mold resistance...thats why I acquired it from shanti for breeding...

Ok, that´s good. I would too. :) I am just going to use them myself anyways. :) Not sell them or anything. But i thought about how a Thyphoon x Early Pearl or another early mold resistant strain cross can perform? I will breed some seeds this summer and try to cross a little more this winter to come up with something good until next summer.

Ps. Do you think Flash´s superautos can be crossed with Thyphoon with a good result?

Yes but you will need to find a grower who has grown a stitch variety in a mold prone area. Muddy says mi5 has good mold resistance but I don't know where he lives and if his area is a wet moldy area... See I grow outside in the mountains and rain and cloudy days are more than sunny ones....

I have been thinking same thing. Crossing some mold resistant early with some auto, hoping to get a plant that starts flowering when the days are long and full of sun shine.
I have seen some huge crops from typhoon. But Typhoon has some mold problems in moist and rainy climates and it's not fast enough to get ripe in most northern parts of Europe. (but great smoke anyway)
On the other hand I Found this info about typhoon's breed in sweden :

"The thyphoon seeds can be purchased from tanska on
http://www.swecan.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=view ... mp;t=44583

(Swedish Cannabis Organisation)
The pure thyphoon strain arent avalible on any seed companys sites, so this is the only way basicly.
Tanska Also provides
Nepal x Hindu Kush (original Nepal that Tanska has been growing over 30years crossed with Hindu Kush from Zenseed)"
I bet those have far better mold resistance than original Danish ones. Although User name Tanska is translation of Denmark. Makes me wonder...
Last summer I tried some hybrid seeds from denmark. They were sold as wery photo sensitive earlys but I think they actually were slow flowering autos. I germinated them in the middle of may and they started to flower week after mid summer.
Personally I'm going to try some earlys and some autos out doors this summer.
I'm not sure if any of this will help you but I posted it any way. :D
I wish great outdoor period for you.

Thanks guys. I have talked to Stitch and he said that all his strains should be very mold resistant, so one of his supers can be a cool and successful cross i think. I should sak him maybe.

I have heard of Tanska, and he has good seeds from what i´ve heard. The Thyphoon seeds i got are probably from him originally. I just saw when i googled his name that a local seedcompany here in sweden where i have ordered from a couple of times carry his seeds, and in a couple of different varieties. Like Purple Thyphoon and Eirdbeir or whats it name.

.

I would also seek grower info, and would also consider asking Wiz. Unless someone has grown in a real shitty environment they can only say....ya its mold resistant. When its not that good. Not alot of places have 2 weeks solid rain and low temps...
