Ive been trying to understand why my plant took so long to hit flower.

The g14 plant ive been growing, vegged for about 6 weeks.

It was grown under 12/12 for the first 4 weeks of its life, then put outside under natural sunlight with 15/9.

Being autos have such a short lifetime, and multiple generations can be born under one season.

Its possible they still use the photoperiod to understand how much longer is left in the season.

Im sure its always going to be on its own timeline, but you may be able to increase vegging time.
By letting the plant know its early in the season by increasing the light.

I dont have any space/time to test this theory for about another year. (just moved)

So if anyone wants to test it. Would love to hear results.

My thought would be: Start them at 12/12. Increase one hour of light every week.

See if you get similar results.

I'm growing Fastbuds Rhino Ryder which vegged for around 6 weeks. I'm growing in 8 gallon buckets. I think they'll veg until the root ball gets bound or if they are over stressed during veg then they start to flower.

Here's a good Autoflower Vid

True autoflowers are indifferent to time , light or anything else you might imagine.

Autoflowers work on a fixed clock.
Nothing deters them from that once they start growing.
That said, nothing can accelerate the growth process either.
The genetics of autoflowers is from ruderalis, which are 60 to 120 to full maturity.

Agreed but these are plants that evolved in nature.

It would make sense if they used photo period to figure out how fast it needs to grow to finish.

Yep, root damage, and over watering can trigger early flowering.

I talked with fast buds as well, and they also suspect it could be that.
Being they know their plants well.

That or i just got a really odd ball seed, but this is why im suggesting people to try it if interested.

Wont be able to retest it for abit.
