i have a 5 inch cool hood with 600w hps but can't get the temps down,
I have a 5 inch prima kilna fan on 2nd speed taking air from outside pulling across the light and into my house and I bought a new 5inch system air to run my extraction out the window.
Before this hot weather it was just ok without the second fan now eve over night iv had 31*

What would be my best way to set this up?
Maybe run filter-fan-ducting-light-fan-ducting- and out.

At the moment they are seperate, But before was just filter-fan-ducting-light-ducting and out.

Getting stressed with this as it's leaking smells now

Thanks guys

I had the same problems, I've tried 5-6 different options but if outside temperature is 25+°C, you'll not have less than 28-29°C in tent. Best option is AC or move tent in cooler room/garage.

Forgot something: keep your ducting as straight as possible. Each 45° or 90° bend will slow down airflow.

Yea did think it's the ambient but then it was cold last night and still only went down to 30, straight from my window in and 1 90* bend out, the extraction is weak with 3 bends and is quite long but I figured the heat would dissipate in the ducting, the noise in the house is unreal with the fan pulling through so need to sort something but the temp is my main goal, il see what's it's done today when I get home as today's not so warm yet thanks

600W HPS ... how far away is light from canopy? Move your light to 50-60cm from plants.

We're havin a heatwave in the uk so my temps have been sitting at 30/31F. There's not a lot I can do about it... just make sure you have lots of fans/airflow within tent

My light is strapped to the roof of my 2m tall tent but have plants that are over a metre tall, but it's the small plants that are Lower and earlier in their life that have been curling, the others just seemed to stop doing anything, when I get home I'm going to try the fan pushing through the light and play around with my ducting.
As it was before it was ok around 27/28 but with the heat it went up to 38.5.

I can dim my ballast to 400w but would I be better off with less light or less heat, when dimmed to 400 it looks pathetic lol, although I ran the 400 before in a smaller tent and had no issues at all with heat, the yield difference between 400/600 was enough for me not to want to go back to 400w ☺️

Update to this is I bought a 5 inch rvk a1 the cool the light, that was a waste of money so o bought a 5 inch rhino thermos fan to run on my filter, my prima kilna is on the light at 360mh3,

So iv got 400mh3 on my filter extracting through a door into my house, I then have the light venting out the window with it taking air from the room, and a 4 inch rvk intake on a dimmer to stop the tent blowing up, and 3 small fans blowing around.

And the end result... 27.1* at canopy level lol. Will be good once the weather goes back to normal

Posted this elsewhere, but for ease I have posted again here....

You may want to try some fog to help keep temps down and humidity up... easy done with a cheap fogger, a clipon fan, water and a bucket.

I went a bit further, and designed an enclosed fogging unit with a external pump to blow cool fog via tubes to various plant containers.

But, this is an easy way, quick, effective and very beneficial to the young plants, lowers high temps and raises the RH.... It will work nicely.

Here is a quick way....
