Problem: Rust discoloration & papery leaves

Medium/grow method: soil, sungrow pro, added worm castings, myco, and compost.

Feed: and supplements used: Innovating 2 stage grow, botanicare liquid karma

water source: well

Strain/age: white widow, 90 days

light used: the big bulb in the sky

Climate: dry, 70-85f

Additional info: ph always 6.3-6.8

Not fed for first 60 days. Showed same rusting after first 3 weeks tho. It was isolated to one half of plant. Pulled those leaves, started ferts, symptom disappeared. It's now returned, and showing over alot of the plant. Funny enough, only some leaves are affected, not all. Only the larger leaves really. There's lots of good growth. And there's lots of new growth, as it's in it's final stretch. Looks great, except for the papery leaves and rust.

I've two other white widow plants from the same seed co going. They are looking and growing great. Fairly big pheno difference in them.

I'm wondering if it's breeder quality, pure deficiency, maybe a plant that's just twitchy, contamination in the soil of some sort. It's also the first time I've tried a photo in a bucket.

I've been passive about it so far, since it resolved once, but curious now.

I only grow a 1-2 lbs - it's all I need for the year. I'll get that without this one, so I doubt I'll rabbit hole a solution.

Any thoughts or questions?

Here's the plant:

Here's a closer look at the issue. Not all growth seems affected, only larger leaves:

The other two - while different phenos - came from the same seed pack, and are doing great. they show no signs at all of the same leaf rusting:

:toke: Capt'n sorry for the delay mate! :help:..... That's a Ca defc. showing, a less common manifestation, but that fine spotting along the veins/midrib is a tell,... that's a lot pf plant in a 5gal pail, so likely she's depleted what's available in there,.. that pH, is is in-pot measured? ... to treat, up the Ca-Mg to full str., and maybe do a foliar as well, at half strength,...do you have a wetting agent? This is critical for effective foliar,...and this is the fastest way into the plant, especially good for poorly-to-immobile nute defc.'s,... The Karma will help chelate things,...

thank you very much for the information kind AFN internet person! Will address this asap...

And an update. Plant was putting out good new growth, but rusty leaves and older foliage didn't seem to be doing anything.

Did a defol on problem leaves, cal-mag hitting roots and foliar for 2 days now. Optimistic!

Ca defc. damage doesn't repair man, it a halting of progression that you're looking for! Don't defol', the leaves still have some mobile nutes in them to draw from,.. the plant will take care of the leaf removal by herself when drained,...
