So I had some CS sitting in a closed cabinet in my garage. It's been a month or so since I used it but now its blue? Is it still good to use? It use to be clear but now it looks like Windex.

I would dump it. The silver particles are most likely degraded and it will not be effective. Did you make it yourself or buy it pre-made?

Does it get very warm in your garage? Perhaps you could find somewhere it stays a little cooler to store your cs. Make sure its in a light proof jar. I like to also fill the jars to the very top to allow as little room for air as possible. I don't really think the air would hurt it much but that's what I do and my cs stays good for at least 30 days. If it sits longer I just make more and dispose of the old. I'm sure it would still work but its so easy to make I would rather not take a chance on wasting time.

never seen it turn blue ever and have no idea how or why yours did, what water did you use , and what silver ?

ive seen grey/silver , yellow , brown'ish , black'ish

sorry bout the "ish" colors , they werent perfectly brown or black , but those are the closest to what they looked like

peace

I used distilled water and 14 gauge silver wire.

what distilled water ? some people mistakenly think the distilled water for topping up car batteries is ok , but its not , even if it somewhat works

what purity wire ? and can you be sure your source is legit/honest ? it only has to be something like 96% for them to call it pure

mine has been stored at way above room temp in the past with no colour change

im baffled , ive never seen or heard of it turning blue before

peace

I was just sayin about temps because I know that high temps can degrade cs but I haven't ever heard of it turning blue either. Are you sure its not grey? Maybe the lighting in the room made it appear blue?

Someone on another forum thinks the silver deteriorated but didnt.go into much detail. I ll take.a pic of it when I get home. Straight up looks like Windex.

any that deteriorated on me was due to light and it turned a dark grey/black

im still baffled as to the blue , it make no sense to me whatsoever

peace

edit,,,,

did some reading on that water brand , found a lot of negative comments , but who knows , its the net , could be competitors slandering them

do you have a tds/ppm meter to test it before making the c.s. ? , last time i checked mine (used the same water the past few years) it was always 0 - 3 ppm , 9 times out of 10 it was 0 and id just use the 3 ppm stuff to drink as normal water and buy a new jug
