Grow Mediums Coco pots?

I'm planning on growing in coco/perlite in my Autopots. The Autopot potting up guide states that with the 3.9 gallon pots the plants should be 9 inches before putting them into the Autopots. What do you start your plants in? Would starting them in a coco pot with coco/perlite in it and then just putting the whole pot into the Autopots work, or would that constrict the roots too much?

You could start the seeds straight in the coco, or in jiffy-pellets then transplant them to the autopot.

You can't start in the autopot and top feed until it's big enough to turn on the resevoir?

You can, I like to make a little crater a couple inches deep and plant there. When your seedling stretches those 2 inches fill it in right to the leaves, helps with faster root growth.
