Hello,

I just started my very first grow in coco. I screwed up and didn't do anything to the coco before planting other than rinse it thoroughly. It wasn't until afterwards that I read I should've probably introduced some cal-mag even before planting. I germinated directly in the coco and all 4 plants have sprouted. I don't see any issues so far but they have only been sprouted for 3 days. I'm just wondering how soon I need to introduce some nutes/calmag. So far just watering 2x/day.

Thanks for any advice.

first rule of coco make sure everything is in the right ph range i like 5.8-6.2 id start with some cal mag now start low 0.5ml per liter till the plants can take some stronger nutes what light will you be using hps or led

The seedling is living off of its germ right now anyway. What nutrients are you using? As stated above, the main thing with coco is maintaining pH, after that everything else is pretty minor. If you are feeding something like megacrop then you probably don't need to worry about calcium.

No worries, right now it wont cause an issue. Coco is very permissive. Let the coco dry a little to prevent any waterlogging issues, and next feed adjust as needed.

Thanks for the info! I’ll be using floramicro/gro/bloom

Thanks! I think my current ph meter is inaccurate. Just ordered another one so hopefully ph will be more reliable.

Water until 20% runoff now and again just to check your pH levels and ec levels also it will help prevent nute build up ect... Happy growing
