Greetings
I'm using coco for the first time . i want to prepare the coco for seedlings.
I have (advanced sensi grow a-b + bloom a-b) but not cal-mag though - can i pre buff the coco with advanced nutes instead of calmag ? if yes, how much of the recommended dosage do you think per litre or gal ?

Thanks

You appear to be mixing up coco buffering (adjusting pH of liquid phase in the coco), pre-treating/dosing the coco with cal-mag, and pre-treating the coco with nutrients. And you neglected to consider you may need to 'pre-rinse' or wash your coco.

First: What coco did you buy? Are you sure you really need to "pre buff the coco?'" Many coco product lines come pre-buffered, such as Canna and Royal Gold, with this also often taking care of initial cal-mag concerns. Any instructions come with the coco?

What level of nutrients and when you start feeding seedlings remains controversial. Some don't feed seeds anything other than root stimulants for several weeks, others start at different levels and times.

What Bll said... and cal/mg is not an option when running coco. It is mandatory.

You can pre-charge your coco with a mild nute solution, yes. As the others said though, first rinsing your coco (if it was brick form), and buffering with cal-mag are both important steps. I guess it all come down to what coco you are using though...(some is pre-washed/buffered for use out of the bag.)

Make sure to pick up some form of cal-mag, you will need it 100%.

thanks . i've got a brick and it's not premade just normal coco brick. im gonna rinse it,let the extra water go , then buffer it for 8 hours.the problem is with the nutes , i've heard that the best way to prepare the coco is with cal mag (7.5ml/gal) -which i don't have (sensi grow a+b each has 3.5% of ca and 1% mg ). and i don't know how much to add

i think that would be the wisest thing to do . i think ill go with half of the recommended dose on the product for charge .
