I had only (1) White Widow XXL seed left from my last grow so I thought I would try a stretch and clone experiment with that seed. So basically after the seed sprouted I only gave it a 23w 7000k cfl. She grew nicely but the nodes were widely spaced because I kept my light at 4 inches. Anyway 24 days later I had 6 nodes and the plant was 12 inches /30 cm tall, I then topped her right above the third node. I put the top / the clone directly back into a a very saturated soil pot, using a route 66 solution and I used a small heating pad to keep that pot at 74.6 f / 23.6, she stayed droopy for 4 days then she came back to life, now at day 42, she is two times bigger than her mother, she is 22 inches / 55.8 cm and she is flowering nicely. her mother is only 12 inches tall and she to is flowering nicely too, but it seems like she is only growing her 2 lower nodes. So here is my question...

Why did the mother stop growing upward on her top node, (her 2 top side nodes)?

I would have thought that the clone would never have caught up to her mother but she has greatly surpassed her. Yes the mother has a much stronger stem structure and bigger leafs, but she definitely looks like she will be a dwarf.

This is something that I have never herd of doing. Cloning a autoflowering strain. From reading you cut of the top 3 nodes to make a 2nd plant (the clone) and left the remaining 3 bottom nodes to grow out?

If so I think the clone being the top cola did better than the bottom (mother) due to the mother being the bottom lower branches.

As I said I've never cloned an automatic strain I'm not sure if any other members have experience with this?

All the best

Mark.
